Trump never said in anything that he was working as a first responder.

I get that from his own statement.

“Many of those affected were firefighters, police officers and other first responders..And I was down there also, but I’m not considering myself a first responder. But I was down there. I spent a lot of time down there with you.”

That's just a flat out lie. It's what is called "Stolen Valor".

Stolen valor? I have seen so many people do that over the years, I think it is considered normal in our society for people to lie about their involvement in things. I try not to do that myself, but people have often over emphasized my part in things so I would volunteer again. I hated taking credit for something that was just what we all should be doing as citizens in a society. But it is impolite to bash someone for praising your help. Many times I knew they were using my desire to help to intimidate others into helping out.

The only thing I see wrong with Trump saying he was assisting is that he mentioned it at all, I would have hid from the camera myself, I do not like recognition. I hated the rewards ceremonies boy scouts had so I never got above a star scout in seven years of being a boy scout. I never needed to prove I was better than others, but do not condone others for trying to gain recognition. Some people need the attention, I prefer to stay out of that kind of stuff. I helped lots of people because I liked helping, not to look better in society.

I do not say those who desire publicity and recognition are bad, only that it is not my cup of tea.

Remember this gem?

"I was down there, and I watched our police and our firemen down on 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down."

He also collected $150,000 from the state of New York for "damages" to Trump tower. 4 miles away. He's a POS and a liar.

How did you get down there? I thought you said all roads and bridges were closed? Do you have any pictures of yourself at ground zero? If not you were not there.

Yes, "Stolen Valor".

This isn't about you. It's about Trump and his narcissistic lies. He couldn't even sign a bill, giving 911 responders medical benefits, without lying to make it about himself, making himself as a quasi hero, how he was "down there", "with you", "helping a little bit". He wasn't.

This about Trump's lies, lies, lies and more lies.

This isn't about me. I was on Maui when the towers came down.

The liberal media complex and their base couldn’t even applaud the signing of a bill giving benefits to 911 responders without making it about Trump. Pretty disgusting.

My mistake I thought this was a woodstock moment. 1/2 million turned into millions as the years passed.

I hate to disagree but first responder is a term used to describe the people who normally show up first in an emergency.
Police and firefighters and EMS are all called first responders.
It does not really denote actual order that anyone shows up or what day they show up.

So Trump is bad because he does this, yet half the people in this country do that same kind of thing. If I were to say he was bad, I would have to say half the people in this country are bad. Some of those people do great things for others, even though they are driven by desire for recognition. In fact, most charities exploit people for donations based on their desire to feel that they are doing good. People like to tell others they are active in helping others to boost their self esteem.

I am just saying there is evidence that Trump was down there. I respect Trump as president, but I do not really like people with personalities like he has. A lot of big businessmen and politicians have that kind of personality. I knew a few congressmen who didn't, but most are headstrong people who boast a lot.

Some of those headstrong reinforcement driven people get a lot done in this area, they employ lots of people. Rich overpowering people are not always evil, if they were we would have to put a wall and gates around DC and the politicians in state capitols.

You'll have to ask trump. It was his lie not mine.

I heard what he said and I didn't take it to mean he was down there on September 11th digging through the rubble, I don't think even Donald can claim to have been a first responder the way that Rumsfeld was helping to carry stretchers at the pentagon.

Trump said something stupid but that's not unusual, I honestly don't think though that he was actually trying to claim to have been down there at ground zero digging up the bodies. Its just one more of the daft things he says and nothing more. He shouldn't have said it, it was a stupid thing to say but I wouldn't call it stolen valour or anything like that. It's just trump being trump, making it about him. Was actually quite a nice speech until he came out with that crap but like I said it think it was just more of a stupid thing for him to have said rather than him claiming to have been down in the ruble digging out bodies.

As for where he was it looks like that question has been answered, he was on the phone to the press boasting about how his building was now the biggest.

Stolen valor. Well put. He can't resist telling himself he is a hero too. He knew that making this statement would be easily debunkable so he toned down his self glorification but couldn't squelch it completely. What his statement really meant was ''oh look at all the attention first responders are getting, all the sympathy for their suffering for their acts of valor those days. I want me some of that too''

There you guys go assuming Trump’s inner-states and intentions. Hopefully you realize you’re using your imagination when resorting to reasoning like this.

Dude... the claim was that trump saw them....
You think he was anywhere near this group?

Sure he was... suuuuuuuure he was.

No one ever said that no muslims celebrated. I am sure some did.
But trump did not see thousands of them celebrating and thats the BS I am calling out.
and that is about as married to reality as it gets.

So can it.

PS

And I post the reality you refuse to face. Thats why you get so upset when I do and feel the need to put me down. Oh well what ever makes you happy. It wont change reality.

He could have been up a pornstar's @!# or even taking a bath in a solid gold tub filled with uncirculated Susan B. Anthony(s).

These kinds of "stories" in the "news" are why he won in the first place and my idiot liberal friends can't get over it so now they are doubling down.

Every. single. one is a joke to him and his voters and actually demoralizing to those of us who are truly independent of both parties and are sick to death of the kvelching over his antics.

If I were you and I actually gave a snip about whether the dems prevail right now, I'd get a hold of my favorite candidates, the DNC and CNN and ask them to "move on" from Trump entirely. You can't play-to-win in the President's sandbox and he OWNS the reality TV space. Like it or not, the dems need a new strategy because this dog don't hunt.

If you look at that cool little link provided by EchoesInTme, there's a pretty fascinating video; a video that MSNBC forgot existed........ an interview done by NBC.

Helping coordinate workers in providing relief efforts.

Literally video evidence. In color, too.

So far the only legitimate(?) argument against this, is that people throwing a stink and crying "Liar" either don't understand that "First Responder" means *trained emergency professional*, and NOT simply the first Joe Shmo to show up at the scene of said incident, or believe that Ground Zero describes the early moments of the 9/11 attacks happening, and not.....ya know........ Ground zero being *Where* the attacks happened.

Well, I guess when you put it that way, it's not really a legitimate defense.
