Johnny Cash has really heavy spooky song "God's Gonna Cut You Down". His old man voice is very foreboding. The thing is I don't think it's true. The politicians over the years have proven crime pays way better than honest hard work. Criminals and evil people run the system. The whole government is run by organized crime. Based on human experiments there seems to be no amount of evil God will not tolerate in order to keep Republicans in power. The Dominionists go as far to say and claim all their evil is ordained by God and they are chosen by God to have dominion over every other citizen.

Contrary to the lyrics in the song below, as far as I can tell, God doesn't do Shiite.

That's because his god doesn't exist, except in his own mind.

I respect Johnny Cash as a musician, and I can appreciate his music. As a person, he was just as deluded as any of us who ever believed in the Christian God, or any other religious deity on earth, but it's understandable considering we were all raised in a society that thinks it has the correct god out of several thousand of them.

I love Johnny Cash, it's a good song and I'm not a Christian. I always took this song as a warning that actions have consequences and one day the givers will be the takers. One way or another.

Which is somewhat true, you never know what's going on in a person's head or their personal life. Live a decent life, hell isn't that why he did a cover of that nine inch nails track?

Anyways, when it comes to deities I always preferred this one by Lemmy...

Hmm, you're correct but God is God to an individual. As long as they express their love in a peaceful way I see no issue with it.

We all worship something at the end of the day when it gets dark.

In the Bible, God already told us what was going to happen and why we needed a Savior to save us from ourselves. In the end, He does send his angels to cut people down. It's called the Great Harvest. The fact that you refuse to listen to the Bible (not to mention the results of that human experiment you mention), is the reason you don't see Him working behind the scenes in individual lives.

Needs posted! So much emotion in his voice. Cash was FAR from good at times in his life. I think this song was his way of conveying that . An apology of sorts.



Pretty sure it was one of his very last recordings also, spookily enough. He knew it was a'comin.

Kinda nutty commentary there.. But.. Yeah, we're all gonna die, or get "cut down."

God or heaven is an has been compared to a farmer, which in some concepts could go along with the concept of Death having a scythe used to cut down wheat.

Personally I think the whole Vengeful, or Jealous God attribute, was more about him getting even when the fruit ripe as can be, so it can only be cut down. The more pissed off he said to be, the more likely one won't learn sort of speak.

However, it also said he loves those that can help themselves.

The Bible just says God is in control and he will put the basest of men in charge. Not that they are his chosen ordained leaders but they are the basest of men.

He does this because they don't choose God.

God comes for no man. Man is his own god he will die and at death he will face judgement. Not one sin will send him to hell, in this age anyway, no what will send him to hell is what he did with Jesus Christ. Oh what about the pygmy which never heard, or anyone for that matter. Well his conscience.
