40,000 people? That's like a small festival in the UK lol, do they even have a fence and security? 😂
Glasto went plastic bottle free this year but cash remained king. Cashless ain't happening anytime soon until people in high up dodgy as fook positions find an alternative way to fund criminal enterprises, honest mate, cash will be here for a lot longer, and if it goes it will just be replaced by 'below limit' digital exchanges via throwaway mobile devices.

42 thou is just the patrons, there must be at least 20000 staff and security as well , they fence the whole thing, it's a massive event, they take about 4 weeks to set it all up. Then security is posted at all the local residents places that surrounds the festival.

I agree cash will be around for a while I was just taken aback that they did this and this company will be attempting to make all its festivals worldwide cashless.

Looks like lots of police and drug-sniffing dogs. Not my kind of festival.

Hardly an issue though really, plenty ways to shift dirty cash digitally already, keep transactions well below ten grand at a time and no flags are raised anywhere. Even small time drug dealers take cards now, you purchase their digital art online lmao!
Cash or digital, meh, doesn't worry me in the slightest, trade will always continue under the counter in the real world, just different tools of commerce is all 👍
edit, prepaid cards are the new cash already, just keep it under a grand or so then it won't get suspended by providers or authorities
edit on 19-7-2019 by Silure because: (no reason given)

Yeah there's no shortage of cops. They don't bring the dogs in though, they stay at the entrances.

Funny thing is there are cash machines down there, that must be so people can still buy drugs.

Too funny.

So it seems the idea is to gauge how much money the vendors are making and then charge them relatively, sneaky bastards want to squeeze out every dollar they can. They even have undercover staff walking around making sure there's no cash money passed around.

I am Australian and if you read the right up about this picture it is from Coachella. We do not own this guy. Whomever does. If that is a fashion blogger from your country you have issues.

This is every festival in Australia now. This one is actually better as the dogs and cops don't go inside. Every other festival they do.

So is this like Australia's Burning Man? Because I have also never heard of it, and the picture shows me why.

Couldn't agree more.

The cops go inside alright there's heaps of them, in fact so much so that the police complain it takes so many resources of theirs to enable this monstrosity.
