Alaska wildfires surpass 1 Million acres burned

Last year, California. Which lost about 2 million acres of land - including homes and forests to fires.

This year, the Last Frontier state. Only halfway into it, and appears Alaska is facing the same fate, already surprassing 1 million acres burned.

What a coincydink!

Forget weather weapons and anthropogenic fires caused by weather or energy weapons!

Remember only YOU can prevent forest fires.

Meh. These things happen. Cycle of life. Burning forests replenish the soil which enables new growth to grow. This new growth eventually leeches all the nutrients out of the soil, begin to die off creating massive amounts of kindling and poof! up she goes again. And the cycle repeats.

Its needed and necessary.

Well, I guess all that effort I put into properly sorting my recycling to reduce carbon emissions, and not just burning it all in my backyard, was a complete waste of time. One tree goes up, and that pretty much negates anything I ever did to help.

As areas burn and later the rains come, the usual erosion takes place. The erosion makes for new uncovered areas for gold prospecting.

Prior to all this there were vast swaths of dead bark beetle trees. Just driving from Wasilla to Anchorage, you could see this death of trees for years now. The Kenai is also taking a hit. When I was there last, the glaciers were half or less.

It's a nice change from all the brain-numbing Liberals vs. Conservatives insult droning that you get from all the major US news sources. They think they're all dupes of Satan and ignorant infidels. It's really a breath of fresh air.

Yeah, the heat was awful! Alaskans really don't deal well with the heat. Our houses are setup to trap in heat, not push it out. And almost all homes before a certain year do not come equipped with AC. I will say this, my apartment is still near 80 F all the time since we hit 90 F on the 4th of July.

Lowe's (or Home Depot) had an empty pallet of electric fans. It had a sign out that said, "Sold Out". While shopping around, my coworker said they put a new pallet of electric fans out and left the sign there. By the time they were ready to check out some 10 minutes later, they were down to only a few left! No PA announcement was made either!

I try the "ice cream" method of cooling down but it doesn't last... the cold or the ice cream.

Most of the wildfires are started by lightening. One day, we had over 10,000 hits but that was/is mostly in the interior.

Here in Anchorage, the weather has broken! *C3P0 voice* "Thank the maker!" and we got rain yesterday. I have vowed, with God as my witness, to never complain about the cold again!

If you call potential propaganda a "change"

Oh, and volcanoes. They really crank out massive tons of carbon. One "small" volcano just laughs at all our efforts to control emissions.

Yeah , sometimes you got to sift through the stuff.
Dont get me wrong , though. My grandson and I watched AJAM every now and then after it replaced TruTV on Comcast.

California and Alaska...both potential beachheads for a land invasion...clearing the stumps out is a good idea now.
