Social Media Summit - Twitter Goes Down

Apparently just before Trumps Social Media Summit at the White House starts, Twitter goes down. Coincidence? Probably.

Why would this be if not?
Are they trying to silence Trump somehow? Anyways, the timing is interesting to me.

The greatest step forward humanity could make at the moment would be to destroy twitter, facebook, instagram, google, youtube...
So many lives would instantly be improved.
I hope the summit today sets in motion the effort to shut them all down.

The President should start his own social media platform. I've never been a member of Twitter, but I would gladly join Trumper.

That's ok, Google is among the tech giants being summoned to the White House whilst Trump is in parallel looking at all regulatory options to punish them. That, along with the lead of the task force stating today that Google et al need to have their protections against defamation liability removed.

Tech giants need to be broken up.

We did it to ourselves. This has nothing to do with free market economies. We ran the internet on socialism. We wanted it free to use and we wanted free email. Well when you want free stuff someone else has to carry your water so to speak.

Nothing is free we gave up our personal information in exchange for free stuff.

Remember when Zuckerberg went in front of a whole committee to try and explain that the internet as a whole needs to be regulated and new rules, and everyone and their grandma freaked out, "Oh my god he wants to control free speech!" while the people he was talking to had no clue what he was talking about?

He gave his ideas and people laughed at him and told him to go home. So he did, now look what people are saying... what goes around comes around I guess.

In my opinion, even if you go 'break up' google, it will just manifest into something else. The android platform is to far advanced to be just stopped as well. Bill gates himself said:

Tech giants themselves don't need to be regulated, the areas they play in need to be, just like Zuckerberg said, the internet needs new rules. But this brings up a big question, would you want the government to control the internet? Isn't that what they do in China?
