I think people missed this post. Pulled right off the page, the below was posted on

Yeah, like this 1st of April article in 2017 claiming the same and even saying Trump held a press conference about it?

Groundbreaking new NASA evidence

New scientific evidence today leaves the world in shock, revealing what we all were thinking but no one dared to say out loud – the mysterious moai statues of Easter Island were in fact built by extraterrestrials.

NASA scientists have worked in secret for years on decrypting the mysterious so called rongo-rongo tablets that this ancient civilization left behind. These wooden tablets were inscribed with symbols whose meaning was lost in the 1862 – 1863 slave raids. Lost – until now.

By analysing linguistic patterns and occurrence frequency of certain syllables, words and sounds, it was possible to break down the meaning of the symbols, starting with the most common articles of the Rapa Nui language, being “ko”, “mo” and “he”. Since the first rongo-rongo tablet was brought to the NASA laboratory by norwegian adventurer and author Thor Heyerdahl in 1986, the long and tedious process of deciphering the ancient symbols has finally been fruitful.

This is a 2 year old hoax, people.

How can they have been decoded when most of them have never been exavated.

Why would NASA be in charge of decoding these messages?

Because they aren't.

It's not that much a suprise, I don't want to imply things about the poster. But I've noticed simple things like this repeat, people are new to the material. Or some haven't even been born yet, like 911 happened and it's a new generation...

Misinformation is like a brush fire that you think you've extinguished, but another gust of wind kicks it right back up again. That's why whenever you read your history books (or the ATS archives) it's probably a good idea to understand that a good half of it is probably just nonsense that somebody debunked ages ago. However, the debunking isn't as fun as the crazy nonsense so it still lingers like a fart in an elevator.

Such a headline-grabbing title for your post and, as you have done with your previous four posts, you have given us a bit of text and a video to watch, offered no opinions to stimulate discussion and expect me to go along and waste one hour of my life watching a video without any inkling of its content.

No thanks. My apologies, but I won't be opening any more of your posts.

The proper etiquette when faced with a youtub with no abstract or explanation of why you should watch is to state:

I dont really take the position to argue on any post opening I make because everyone has their own opinion on the topics discussed here...I am very capable at writing lengthy opinions on what I think but I deliberately choose not to do so in a post intro.

If that makes the Posts worthless to you, I accept it, but so far I've learnt a lot and had interesting discussions with people who have bothered to open them even when I dont start them in a heavily opinionated way which I could easily do.

Its just not me...That said, I would never Post anything that I thought had no value to anyone here.

Educate yourself. NASA do a lot of work at ancient sites.

Here is an introduction video for you.

The video did the usual job of assigning everything to the Polynesians, and failing to mention the original white inhabitants, just as in New Zealand. Worthless.

Do you have any evidence which backs up this claim ?

Youtube evidence.
NASA has not translated Rongorongo.
NASA has never tried to translate Rongorongo.

Educate yourself with something other than some moron's youtube postings.

Why do NASA do work on ancient sites if they have nothing to do with the aerospace industry ?

can you please explain why NASA scientists would use their budget already under scrutiny to indulge in archaeology
