Only thing about the dust theory is that, unless you were cleaning the lens between shots, there would be a consistant orbage on most all of the senquential pics. According to the numbering and the appearance of the background, some that have the blurring/orbs, also have plain clear one's between.

Just an observation.

As far as the red one's go. Red is the color of passion, and also anger, which is in itself a passionate emotion.
