Mach 2~ to Mach 3 at best for top velocity here.

Inertial stops seem impressive, but they might not be dead dime stops. It could be a sharp degree turn or purposeful stall, optical illusion from the viewpoint of the camera.

Either way, while impressive, not outside the bounds of human engineering.

You can see myriad UFOs now. I think the phenomena is getting mainstreamed. If you go out after 11pm most night on a clear night and just look up for a while you'll see what I mean.

Things are getting weird. They're there all the time. Most people simply don't look up. They move erratically and glow all sorts of colours.

Why are they here is the question.

The acceleration and change of direction weren't THAT impressive, in comparison to some other UFO vids Ive seen, a high performance military drone might be able to do that.

However, one part about that object that WAS incredibly impressive, is how it stopped on a dime. You cant travel that fast in one direction then stop on a dime in the air. Its not possible, you're momentum at that speed would overrun and type of air braking imaginable, not even massive parachutes could stop it that quick.

Even with a high powered engine suddenly switching thrust in the opposite direction you cant stop that fast and stay still.

The only way you could conceivably do that is with some type of rocket engine immediately blasting on in the direction you were traveling, and the amount of force from that engine you would need to create would be a massive explosion.

You dont see anything of the sort here.

This passes the smell test IMHO.

Yeah, that little odd over correction looked to me more like what my mouse pointer looks like b/c I use a track ball.. I can do all of those moves perfect with a track ball and a couple other devices. It's almost like the "UFO" was a re-programmed GIF image of the pointer and put on a video playing the sky night of the plane. That's my guess.

So it says commercial airliner and 1985 and my first google search bring up

August 1985: The worst month for air disasters

does that add any validity, I dont no , is there a known case of an airliner crashing in suspicious circumstances in 85?

Yeah, I saw one the other night. I saw a light flash out of the corner of my eye, didn't think anything of it. Then about 15 seconds later I saw it again in a different place heading in a line to the north. I estimated when and where I'd see it again, and it showed up. About five flashes overall and it was gone out of sight. Not an airplane. Those are obvious. Fairly bright white light. What flashes every 15 seconds or so? I suspected that it might be a rotating satellite, since there are so many up there, but honestly I don't really know what it was.

You're right though. Stuff flying around in the night sky all the time. We need a new Project Identification.

Could it have been iridium flares?
If so, there are websites that track those. You maybe able to go to one, use the time, location, direction info etc and see if it matches up

Edit: here's a link to one

Maybe. Possibly. There's so much junk up there, it could easily have been a satellite.

I may invest in a little astronomy program for my Android tablet. I hear good things about Stellarium, which provides some basic satellite tracking and has an easy UI for the non-astronomically inclined, like myself.

Stellarium is pretty good as i remember, i was playing about on it a couple of years ago.
A good UI and lots of good custom plugins as i remember.
Don't know how good it will be on Android though...

Why do humans put lights on aircraft?

Why would an alien put lights that are visible by humans on an aircraft?

If they wanted to be seen why fly so high ? Why not just land in a city and be seen?

I believe that EVERY ufo ever seen was man made.

Find out what plane that was and see if the mystery object was recorded as they fly by it.

What does a debunk matter? You already believe we're being visited by E.T. Plus plenty of folk have reported phenomena that look and act like that. I've seen one that looked the same without that much movement though. Mine just kind of meandered around silently for a bit before straightening out and flying overhead until out of sight.

There's not enough info here to track it down and you'd need video forensics to say yay or no.

Take a sheet of glass out to the boonies with low light scatter. Hold the glass up at an angle. Wait for Space Station to come along. Use the beam of a penlight to act as your ufo. Pfffttt...... instant aliens.

How do you know they are lights ?

They could be illuminated by the sun, the same as satellites and the ISS are at night.

So humans won't run into them?

Weren't you paying attention? It's already been debunked. This is total B.S. Here a guy points out and proves it is nonsense, then the next dozen posts continue to say it is amazing. No wonder the UFO field is messed up.
