Question: Why aren't there regular Bataclan-style massacres in the USA?

Do you all remember the 2015 Paris attacks? 138 slaughtered. Explosives, automatic rifles and general chaos.

Those attacks occurred in France, a country in Europe, across the Atlantic. Gun control is strict in France. IEDs are illegal.

Now, switch over to the United States. Guns, whether legal or illegal, are supposedly ubiquitous. u
US intelligence services and the DHS etc keep warning of terror threats. We are constantly told that Islamic terrorists really hate America and wish to strike it.

If this is the case, why do Bataclan-style massacres not occur on the US mainland on a regular basis?

Why do hateful Islamists armed to the teeth with automatic rifles, IEDs and whatnot not burst into shopping malls or crowded areas and slaughter innocent Americans in their dozens?

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

But they are NOT designated as "terror attacks" or "acts of terrorism" in the same way that, say, a group of seven males armed with automatic rifles and IEDs bursting into a packed North American shopping mall at Christmas time screaming "Allahu Akbar" and gunning down dozens of innocent Americans are...

Maybe because security is a little better.

Also improvised explosive devices are illegal in the U.S. as well.

Can you let us know what you are thinking so we can agree or disagree?

I have a feeling I'm going to disagree.

Precisely. Not terror-related mass shootings.

Thats 4 years ago already? Damn time goes by fast.
Nobody in their right mind should wonder why there arent more terror attacks, regardless of where.

Imagine asking when the next plane is due hitting a building. No

If you look at the mass shootings, you'll find that in fact there is one group who is responsible for the VAST majority of these shootings, and it AIN'T the group demonized by the media - right wing extremists - it is indeed their pet minority, blacks, mainly those in cities with lower socio-economic stature.

I'll confidently state that it the US is probably the easiest nation in the world to produce IED's if one was so inclined as we have fairly free access to chemicals and such to make them unlike the EU where the chemicals are much more highly regulated, even common acids and fertilizers one needs a professional license to purchase even small amounts.

The reason there aren't more attacks, is, IMO, that the terrorists don't really have a "beef" with "the people" of the US, they have a problem with US political policy, especially foreign policy and corporate involvement. It's like how people of Iran don't really hate Americans but they hate the US government. So targeting random US citizens would do little to further their cause and only galvanize the US population against Muslim's and those countries supporting these actions.

That is the stupidest comment I've ever heard. Wondering why there aren't more is a VERY honest and natural question, one which I would guess MANY of use have had many times before.

Who are you to say "Nobody in their right mind should wonder why there arent more terror attacks, regardless of where"? Seriously - what are your qualifications to make that statement?

We are told over and over how much danger we are in b/c "THEY" hate out freedoms and our way of life, so why are there not more attacks, especially with so much free access to guns and IED making chemicals - and ESPECIALLY with the open southern border. It's a very logical question and one that stands on it's own merits, with ABSOLUTELY NO NEED for your approval to ask.

Islamic bad-guys can't compete with homegrown political nut-jobs and incels who want revenge for not getting all the sex they imagine they deserve?

Also, the CIA isn't supposed to operate stateside.

(I'd never make THAT joke if I was a touring musician.)

True. An article I read earlier today noted that there is an estimated 350 million guns in the US.

Aren't these gang-related though?

What we are concerned with here is terrorism and acts of terror, not gang bangers who just happen to be "African American"...

This is the most pertinent comment so far. I am tempted to agree with you.

HOWEVER...

What about states which have stricter gun control? Like New York state for instance? Or Connecticut?

Many places that have fire arm restrictions also have (ironically) high volumes of gun violence from illegal activities.

That was also in France.

My question is specifically about the United States of America...
