The idea that it's not considered a mental disorder is baffling.

I might be baffling to you but its the view of the scientific and medical community that gender dysmorphia is in fact, not a mental illness.

You can agree or disagree but the fact remains.

Well if the medical community would recognize the medical issue of gender dysporia as a direct link to mental issues like suicide, maybe we could save a hell of a lot of people.

The fact is a lot of confused people are dying by their own hand.

I would say that some dehumanized people are dying by their own hand.

I think it's sad that people who like doing things outside society's rigidly idea of what is a man and what is a women are now pushed to think their entire physical existence is wrong, they're wrong, so much that they become suicidal and mutilate themselves with drugs and surgeries trying hard to fit inside those narrow stereotypes.

Who like doing things outside society's rigidly idea? So they are doing it for s**ts and giggles and have no real biological and mental issues?

Women are now pushed to think...they are wrong? I am not, why are you?

They become suicidal and mutilate themselves...? That would be for the desire to belong and then being rejected.

To make a blanket statement as if there is no dissent is intellectually dishonest... and to make such a blanket statement when we know that dissent is being silenced and dissenters are harassed, bullied and punished is gaslighting. There are many within the scientific and medical communities, as well as the psychological/psychiatric communities who do NOT agree with the current theories and beliefs being portrayed as fact and science.

You can agree or disagree but the fact remains.

Indeed. There are theories and beliefs... and then there facts and science.

And the OP is about the bullying, silencing, and punishing of those who dare to disagree.

You, like so many here, have a lack of reading comprehension skills.

Gender expression is tied to genetics. Every source used here has served to prove that.

To our knowledge, no other sex has been produced genetically that would give rise to gender expression OTHER THAN the two genders in existence.

So, therefore, since no other genders have been so defined, no other genders can exist.

I oppose trans activism because I refuse to coddle an aberrant minority with physical and mental illness as a normal modus vivendis for my or anyone else's kids.

I do not support the usurpation of real women for a fake sense of inclusiveness.

I don't give a crap what you personally think of me.

The amount of mental gymnastics taking place in that link has me looking for Mary Lou Retton or a medal ceremony.
Wow, I thought I'd seen a lot of psuedo science, but that's next level.
ScienceABC...are they accredited by the AMA?

We struggle with it because it's not a biological thing if it exists solely in your brain and it's not a physical issue. I get that's where "brain differences" come in, but as I pointed out, no one knows if those differences came into play before or after those people started to be trans. In order to know for sure, you would have to find those differences in people *before* they expressed as trans *and* they would have to be predictive of trans ideation to a great degree.

Right now, all they are doing is scanning trans brains of already trans people and comparing them to the brains of people who are not trans.

We very much can shape our own brains through how we use them.

I disagree with your take on it. In a discussion or debate, all valid research should be considered. However, when one is approaching the research with conscious or unconscious bias, well then, here we are.

Dude I dont think any less of you for your opinion am just curious.

We are total opposites of this, we're not going to meet in the middle I just like reach out and dig into the views of the other side. Its interesting to me that you refuse to believe that multiple genders exist, its not offensive, doesn't make me think less of you, I recognise that that we have different views. I am not trying to change your opinion just understand it and challenge it by highlighting it is not consistent with the general view of the scientific community. Part of me almost admires the boldness of looking at a scientific fact and saying to hell with this, this is what I believe and I am standing by it regardless of what the science and experts believe. I am to logical and probably not imaginative enough for that.

I feel like you're taking this way to personally.

I also feel like our discussion has come to an end.

until next time

So passion for ones opinion is something we suspend people for? How about those walkouts. Those are pretty disruptive. Suspensions should be the order of the day, right?

Lets face it, he was probably actually suspended for videoing his teacher and posting it online and the media just like the controversial point of going on about trans-issues for readers so thats the headline.

"School boy suspended for videoing teacher"

Gets less readers than:

"School boy suspended for stating there are only 2 genders"

Thank you.

"Gender" has been literally re-defined in my lifetime, with the attempt to re-define "woman" in a man's image in accordance with some of the worst stereotypes, and thus un-defining every woman in the process!

But we are still here!!!

The current effort to usurp our rights, privacy, safety and dignity was and is my red line. (Well, one of three actually).

Don't high school student risk that already, when they stage walkouts. They did in my high school.

Yes, we are still here and so are the trans women - there you have two separate definitions.

Maybe some places but from what I've seen those gun control walkouts resulted in no suspensions.

You want to know the ugly truth of what is really going on?

Chemicals in our environment are altering the natural biology of pre pubescent children and developing teens. Namely ones found in plastics that mimic oestrogen the female hormone. There are also others that affect our biology causing the increase in gender issues and identity. TPTB know about this but rather than do anything to prevent it instead they are encouraging schools to teach kids that there are multiple genders. It’s also part of the long term goal to blur the lines between male and female, feminising men and emasculating women.

That is to make future generations into more placid and conforming individuals.

Do you have any valid sources for us to read?

Language evolves over time, its just how it works, new words get added, definitions evolve. Doesn't make the new ones wrong or the old ones for that matter (which were right in their time) its just the evolving nature of language.

In some places, teachers and administrators encourage the activism as it suits them. How many of the kids who walked out for gun violence got suspended I wonder?

If the old definitions aren't wrong, then this kid wasn't wrong either.
