Sat back and watched these past few years how Hollywood has drug up old serials and injected political commentary and ignored past history of said serials, and just tanked.

Among some of them, Star Trek Discovery, Star Wars...

Had debates on social media with people all over the world about the irritation of people at the stark ignorance, and how new writers completely ignore canon in fictional universes.

Why is Canon so important? What is canon?

From Merriam Webster Dictionary online:

Definition of canon (Entry 1 of 3)
1a : a regulation or dogma decreed by a church council
b : a provision of canon law
2 [ Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Late Latin, from Latin, model ] : the most solemn and unvarying part of the Mass including the consecration of the bread and wine
3 [ Middle English, from Late Latin, from Latin, standard ]
a : an authoritative list of books accepted as Holy Scripture
b : the authentic works of a writer
the Chaucer canon
c : a sanctioned or accepted group or body of related works
the canon of great literature
4a : an accepted principle or rule
b : a criterion or standard of judgment
the canons of good taste
c : a body of principles, rules, standards, or norms
according to newspaper canon … a big story calls for a lot of copy
— A. J. Liebling

We are all thinking people. When we see contradictions in works, we protest! No?

For example, those of us who grew up on the movies by George Lucas and watched Luke Skywalker evolve protested in the new movies as he was stripped of every characteristic he ever was, by a hack job con-artist.

I compare it to the old tales of Homer who told the epic of Odysseus, how he grew arrogant at his conquest of Troy and when he went to return to his home of Ithaca the gods of Greek mythology lead him astray and humbled him for 20 years, he was left at sea never being able to return, until finally he lost his army, his arrogance, everything he thought he was, and he humbled himself and prostrated himself before the gods. And finally they granted that he return home. Only to find that it was ravaged by other men who envied his power and position and wife. And he reclaimed it all.

It is a story that has endured thousands of years because of its heart. Its lessons.

Imagine a charlatan that prances along and then says that Odysseus ended up an old hermit who hated everything and rejected all things, living on a solitary island. What was the point of his journey and suffering?

Just like Luke Skywalker in the Last Jedi. Those who have seen all of the movies know how hacked to pieces his character was. How the writer abused canon. Because we a logical thinking people.

Then it makes me think of the importance of things far more granduer. Like canon of Holy Scirpture. I read the Bible. I've read the Bible. I love reading the Bible.

It breaths life with stories from ages past...stories of humankind. Of the creation of the universe. Of a universal war being waged in an invisible realm that exists outside the phsyisal realm of existeince. Where God and his angles exist. And it talks of spirits who rebelled against God. That one wicked angel gained rulership of the earth.

All of this we can understand. We think. We ponder. We see. These things were written in ages past about things that happened and even tell of things that will happen. It speaks of things supernatural. It is from the supernatural.

It is not human. The work in the Bible. It is not....a human work. It is a wonderful collection of books all inspired by a God who created all things. And it is all canon...in agreement...written over a period of 2,000 years.

Saved by God and given in his undeserved kindness to us humans at the end of days. It tells us things no human could know. Such as God is named Jehovah. He created a spirit who became to be known as Jesus Christ. That son of God came to earth and gave his life for humankind.

These things...they are not of human origin. They are not fiction. A reasoning human has to come to understand it is truth.

Jehovah is the true God. His son is Jesus Christ the savior of the world. We are approaching Armageddon.

So you think in the span of 40 years that Star Wars has been bastardized to represent a new vision of what the writers feel Star Wars should be, but you don't think that in over 2000 years men haven't done the same thing to the bible?

Yes.

But no. It is not. It is all in agreement. It is all canon.

The books rejected are not. They are apocrypha.

It was something I came to understand while talking with people online.

People who didn't know the canon of said universes don't care. Those who did know did care. It offended their sense of canon.

It made me realize how much more so that thinking humans from time past kept the written records of the Bible as sacred and did not allow it to be tainted with untruth.

The Bible is canon. It is trustworthy. It was handed down to us by humans who gave their lives to both record what they were given from the supernatural...and those who understood its importance and kept recording it for the progeny, that is us...that was to come.

It makes me appreite the people who both recorded it, and gave their lives so that we today could have it.

No, not religious. Spiritual.

Also, just as you have physical hunger every day and need to eat to live. You also have a spiritual need. Most people don't even understand this. I have opened your eyes to it this day.

Most people look to feed their spiritual hunger by buying things, and looking to money or power, or pleasure. But they always end up empty. Because they don't know the spiritual hunger can only be filled by God. They make their own gods. But their false gods always disappoint them.

What makes me nervous is if the light people see when they die isn't like that fish that lives at the bottom of the ocean to lure in prey.

Also I hope God isn't trying to set us up somehow which would suck cause God is all powerful...

I know many think God is Love but their are many emotions and I hope I don't piss God off... because God stacks the deck.

You're thinking like a human. God doesn't stack a deck. He makes the deck.

Look at everything in the universe. It was all in the mind of God before he used his power to make it.

Is there one single thing that any human or angel has even thought of or invented that God already hasn't done?

I think God must be bored if he made the deck cause he knows everything that has and will be.

If I was God I would erase my memory and insert myself into the everyday dealing of the life he created. Or even better make the Universe while being human since he can control anything so making the Universe while being born as human would be amazingly cool.

idk I just think God could have some fun if he rolled with his creations during our life time. If he doesn't have his powers though he better not say he is God or now a days he would end up in a mental institute.

Plus he hasn't sent anyone for 2000 years so we need a new and improved messenger to get more to believe. This world sucks because their are no miracles or magic anymore, if ever...

Typical human thoughts. You need to look up and start talking. The one who created the ears and the mouth, can he not hear and speak?

The one who made us to think, does he not know what we are thinking?

When I say look up I mean in your mind. You were created with that ability. You can perceive God, even though you cannot see him.

Also you can talk to him. It is called prayer. And it is very real. And he is there and can hear your prayer if he wants to. And he can and does answer.

2,000 years is nothing to God. That's like 2 days have gone by. Again you're thinking on the human scale of things, even the Bible tells us that a 1,000 years to a man is like 1 day to God.

What is the point of praying if he already know what you are thinking. we pray for ourselves and it seems like a added burden on God even though I know he can take it.

Their must be a solution to the question "Can God make a boulder that even he can't lift?" If he can do anything then what is the answer? He could turn himself into a human for a bit but even still add "anytime" to the question then it seems impossible that he can do anything.

I still think knowing everything is not always a good thing. That is just my human thinking though I guess.

God could never be a human. He even said that if a human were to look on his face we would die.

His brilliance and power doesn't allow him to exist in our realm. It would simply be too powerful for us.

No matter how you look at it, it's as if the Universe/God created life, so as to observe the Creator.

Belief is the force that is the beginning of anything achieved by man.

Star Wars parallels... Hmmm.

Yeah, I can see it. Op will not like it but it fits.

See Christians today are all following the Disney retarded canon. If Christians were still alive from when these stories were made they would complaining about the stupid plotholes and bastardized meaning and history that has been rewritten for the masses all to draw in more suckers to buy more religion/merchandise.
