I think the kkk should have a free speech forum anywhere they want, As should American Nazi and white supremacist; spew your racist rhetoric all you want. But don't whine when the community reacts unfavorably.

Yeah. There was a Nazi rally planned here once about a year ago, people were freaking out about it. In the end, nobody showed up at all. There just wasn't enough of them to even have their rally.

Of course, giving them hundreds of counter-demonstrators who were, I'm sure, just all sweetness themselves just gave 'em free press... Oops.

Better tactic would have been to ignore them into oblivion. Walk by, pause, shake your head, move on. But, whatever.

I think this is the same for Evangelical businesses that want to discriminate against LGBTQ members of society in refusing to serve them

They should be asked to proudly post a sign in the front window that LGBTQ are not welcome if they decide to discriminate

Then see how the local community reacts to this, and not be allowed to take the sign down just because business slows

A lot of times these groups are just made up of people following greater trends. Back when the KKK was more openly acceptable(and was supported by positions of political/social power). The average person would repeat the "status quo" and just go along with what's popular for the sake of not standing out.

The KKK, neo-nazi's just aren't even a blip on the radar anymore. They have NO political or social backing(ok maybe a wingnut here and there, but nothing like 60 years ago). All that's left is the die hard brainwashed, which are very few and far between(the ones that will actually organize and expose themselves in the open for public ridicule).

There's probably a new anti-race movement these days that is more acceptable, is socially and politically backed and has a large majority of people jumping on board just to "fit in".

EXACTLY. First Amendment rights should be supported on both sides. However, people who spout hate speech need to understand that there are sometimes consequences to their actions. Anonymous hate speech should never be allowed.

But if an employer wants to fire an employee because they don't epitomize corporate values, then so be it.

There was a neo nazi rally in my town in 94...I filmed it for a video project for college. 150 nazis....5000 protesters. I got an A by the way.

Also free speech for the Black, White and Brown people that gathered together in Dayton, for peace, justice and the American way!!

Most are related by working for the FBI, aside from the pair of inbreds that started the chapter.

Funny thing is people still mention "Charlottesville" as a dog whistle for White supremacism.

The problem I see is that the radical right is rejected by everyone else, but the radical left has mainstream support more often than not.
