You think its unverified because the material is classified.
Fact is much of the dossier has been verified and more is verified every day.
But since the dossier was not used exclusively to obtain the warrant and since the court is obligated to protect the identity of everyone mentioned in the documentation except the target then those names being omitted is not a violation nor proof that someone was trying to fool anyone either.
You'll notice that trumps name was not mentioned either. He's candidate #1.
The only name mentioned is Page himself. Everyone else is protected.

Christopher Steele says that the information in the dossier is unverified. You are delusional if you think anything else.

In a recent court testimony Steele has acknowledged that his final December 2016 report (# 166), contained information he never vetted. He stated that:

“The contents of the report did not represent (and did not purport to represent) verified facts, but were raw intelligence which had identified a range of allegations that warranted investigation given their potential national security implications”.

It’s easy to get lost in all of these weasel words but the common term for “raw intelligence” that does not represent nor purport to represent credible or verified facts is called a rumor.

On the question of chain of transmission, we have the same problem as with the verifiability. When asked about his collection methods, Steele said:

“Such intelligence was not actively sought; it was merely received.”

Steele testified in court in britian that none of it was "verified".

Why some refuse to take him at his word, I will never understand.
It is a garbage dirt grab bag.
