Roseanne Barr's Son Asks: Why Was Director James Gunn Forgiven And Not His Mom?

In the following YouTube clip, which was released Wednesday, Roseanne Barr's son, Jake Pentland, questions why his mother's career was destroyed over one tweet, yet James Gunn, the writer and director of “Guardians of the Galaxy 3,” was rehired after being fired for jokes he wrote on Twitter, several years ago, involving pedophilia and rape.

When Gunn was first fired, “Guardians” cast members were outraged and claimed it was due to “mob mentality” displayed on the internet. The chairman of Walt Disney Studios eventually rehired Mr. Gunn after he issued a public apology.

Pentland rightfully asks why Gunn was forgiven for hundreds of foul and disgusting tweets, while his mother was instantly fired for a single offensive tweet. Was it because Barr was a Trump supporter and many people in Hollywood suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome? Not really surprising considering the amount of hate that actors direct at President Trump on a daily basis.

Jake Pentland has always defended his mother against the obvious double standard in Hollywood towards his mother. In this video he discusses the hypocrisy in her unprecedented punishment and lack of forgiveness. Citing the rehiring and forgiveness of James Gunn (numerous pedophile and "tranny" jokes) by Disney(The parent company of ABC), he asks the question: "Why has my mother not been forgiven?"

Barr was made Attorney General. That wasn't good enough?

A tad bit old to be getting publicity, I mean fighting for his Mom's honor I'd think.

Who is he, what does he do for a living? Is he already in the public eye anyways with some self earned fame beyond being Roseanne Barr's son?

Is that her maiden name or a married name from a divorce? Is Pentland her maiden name? Why does he have a different last name? Is he married to another man?

I'm asking honestly. Was he adopted by another family? Was he a love child that stayed with his father instead of his mother?

I love how you casually ignore the questions that Barr's son raises, only by stating that it's "a tad bit old." So, are you OK with James Gunn's past tweets? Are you OK with him being rehired?

I thought Rosanne's show was pretty popular as far as ratings go, so perhaps there's another answer.
Gunn is a Liberal, Beta male, who made hundreds of vile tweets and got his hand slapped.
Roseanne is an outspoken woman, who made one questionable tweet and got fired, because she's pro-Trump.

What does that have to do with anything. Does his argument have merit? That appears to be the subject of this thread...not the son himself but his argument against the treatment of his mother.

Although I am sure those looking to dodge addressing that would love to look for something to address about him other than the subject matter he brought up.

I never read his tweets, knew who he was or saw his name before. I don't.. really care. No, it's obviously not ok that he made those tweets and then was rehired somewhere, to do something, Disney.

Why should I waste any time and energy looking up his tweets, reading about who he is? Is he wasting his time looking mine up, disagreeing with a company rehiring me despite having made comments about my negative opinion of trannies? He's a grade A dirtbag, I agree. Lets have a discussion about it. Look into his history, investigate how he acquired these bad opinions of certain types of people and the nerve to tweet about it. Oh yeah, he's a convicted pedophile? Or people think he is because of things he's posted? Regardless, we should get to the bottom of that.

The psychology of is what matters, not just demonizing him which he probably deserves. It'd get boring after a while wouldn't it? If you had to spend 2 or more hours every single day with responsibility writing about how much someone sucks and why, before very long you'd feel like me and not want to read or write anything to do with him. The comparison is stupid to begin with. Apples to oranges. Is it supposed to be because Barr is an outspoken liberal, her son is too, and this (whats his name again?) guy Jesse must be on the right if he talks bad about trannies on twitter. Why would her son even choose it?

My mom is being treated unfairly because her extra, outspoken statements and behavior she shouldn't have been making anyways because why? Back to psychology. I guess she was famous and more important than she was. I'm a famous actress, let's go on the news to give opinions on a range of sensitive issues. I will defend her publicly by comparing her to a guy that tweeted about trannies and was rehired by Disney.

Maybe.. he's not an actor on a show, thus doesn't affect whether the show is successful or a waste of hundreds of thousands, even millions? Maybe he's behind the scenes, does something else. Is he a spokesman or something? See what I'm saying, there's no background information. I'm grasping for straws and refuse to look any of this up out of principle.

James Gunn has something called talent and money making potential still. He's not a camera personality. She used to be the star of a 30min tv show you could get with an antenna, but it was a family favorite that many of us grew up with so there's nostalgia.

When she started being outspoken in the media, getting interview by news shows, she overstepped her boundaries. She made an offensive tweet but it wasn't just that, that's what cited as an acceptable reason, it doesn't show the ugly side of humanity. She was becoming loopy and an attention sponge, soaking it up as I remember.

You'd be watching CNN or something and she'd be on there talking about some such, wearing her opinions and beliefs on her shoulder. Like.. who cares except for her? Wouldn't be surprised if it was a change in medication that promoted her appearance from background obscurity for so long into a political commentator. I've got stereotypes for you.

She was getting past middle age, she's self important "empowered" and "famous", and wasn't she a mother? Lots of money, the best health insurance, probably plenty of friends to gossip about medical with. Many will try different anti-depressents, combinations of them, combinations with mood stabilizers trying to feel just right or what they perceive that to be. Of course you're not happy, look at what you're chasing and why. Let it go, ask your son to stand down, you're just looking more obnoxious and white trash. Don't tarnish your legacy even more.

I can picture her right now with that smug look on her face like you cant quite tell if she's enjoying it, being serious, or full of dramatic, extra feces.
