As far as "stone monuments" in Britain, it was recently announced that "upright Stones in circles", thought to be some ancient sign to the future.....were erected by some farmer in the 70s/80s for whatever reason (a joke one would presume), until the were "Discovered" by some expert , who declared them 1000s of years old, from some ancient culture.
