Looks a lot like Ferguson and Baltimore riots under Obama here in the US.

To my knowledge, Man is the only animal capable of firebombing anything.

Opposable thumbs and a rudimentary mastery of Chemistry being a requirement.

I really fail to understand what it is you seem to find funny about this whole horrendous situation?

A young Woman died ffs and the potential for continued violence and loss of life is in the air.

That will indeed be a rather interesting piece of the puzzle to establish.

Could very easily have been a stray bullet responsible all the same, with her simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Don't expect anyone to be apprehended right away for this young woman's murder or witnesses forthcoming all the same.

Because it's simply not worth there live or the lives of there families.

And that is the kind of mentality that is prevalent in the area in question no matter what the Mayor claims to the contrary.

God bless and RIP to the poor journalist Miss McKee, a tragic turn of events and one that could quite frankly have been avoided.

I agree with regard to the possibility no one will come forward.

As to the rest of it, we will probably travel to the stars before NI gets fixed one way or another.

And when we do we will most lightly take our troubles with us.

Gods choosen creature indeed eh?

"What a piece of work is man, How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty, In form and moving how express and admirable, In action how like an Angel, In apprehension how like a god, The beauty of the world, The paragon of animals. And yet to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me; no, nor Woman neither; though by your smiling you seem to say so."

Old Bill knew the score and then some.

Try visiting Shankhill in Belfast rather than nice tourist places.

You can find examples in any community, whether Northern Ireland, or Chicago, or wherever you care to look. However, the majority - I would say vast majority - of people in Northern Ireland have no support or liking for people who seek to perpetuate violence from either divide.

I don't travel to Northern Ireland as a tourist BTW. Please keep it civil.

Why don't they rise up and fight for their independence?

So you would have no problem with Native American Indians " rising up " and fighting to be independent from U.S, rule ?

If they want to all be killed off for good that would be a great idea.....(sarcasm)

They did - ever hear of guns smuggled by the "cause" into Ireland from the US? thanks to the 2nd!

www.google.com.au...

IRA weapons smuggling Four shipments of guns, ammunition and explosives were made between 1985 and 1986, providing large quantities of modern weaponry to the IRA, including heavy machine guns, over 1,000 rifles, several hundred handguns, rocket-propelled grenades, flamethrowers, surface-to-air missiles, and Semtex explosive

Irish pubs in the US would collect for the cause - I forgot the movie that explained it rather well.

It was called NORAID. I guess an modern example would be a whip-round at a Mosque to send cash to some bunch of nutjobs raping and murdering themselves around the Middle East.

Here's something on arms from the US... Wikipedia, oh I know...

Good to know that guns from the US were used to terrorise, knee-cap, and execute people.

Back then, if memory serves, the IRA and their ilk were rather more organized, better supplied, and armed, than the likes of ISIS or any of the other racist nutjobs raping and murdering there way around the Middle East.

A different class of terrorist all together, on another continent(island).

The US will always have an interest in Ireland i suppose just down to the number of people who claim Irish descent who hail from there shores.

Well we've seen how the elections were nearly stolen and won and Mueller is playing out in the US. Hardly inspiring

Pretending more of the same government can fix it is as well.

Pretending more of the same lobby controlled Reps and Senators in the US will yield a different outcome is bordering on....insanity....

But go ahead keep imposing your American centric views on the world - its worked wonders in the Middle East or with South American CIA backed dictators.

Not trying to go off topic but is that really any different than Christians in the US supporting a Greater Zion in the face of mounting humanitarian crisis of the Palestinian plight?

"they want to drive us into the sea" is Israels favorite war cry for funding and the latest tech. Even in the face of Israel saying they will Nuke the whole world to the ground if their Nationhood is threatened. Which other civilized Nation talks in such extremes?

That fits the legal definition of Terrorism without any stretch of the imagination. Just that Israel gets a pass when it comes to sanctions.

They could try. But they wouldn't succeed.
