Authorities said there was an early lead that “someone had gone to a school” and tried to gain access to a student, but they later determined that was not Pais.

This little snippet link from the OPs source creates other questions too. Certainly, could have a been a coincidence. Yet, why did they even need to determine it was NOT Pais? What occurred that they thought it was a possible early lead? If she is not doing this alone, is it possible this may have been a lead after all?

yes I agree.... I feel like this is the opening to a movie of some runaway alien, or secret agent or other some such person of interest and the cover-up story in case she went live with news, and make sure everyone stay as far away from her as possible.
