Just follow the scores, and some stats. Don't watch the games, nor know much about the player depth-charts, anymore.
Is Muzzin not doing as well as he did with LA in the playoffs?

Seems like 5-6 solid D-men was traditionally needed to make a serious run, is it the same with the NHS?

Sorry, not sorry Red Wings. You didn't even make it to the first round

No worries....there's always next year

Indeed

I'm sort of the black sheep in my hockey family in terms of which teams I support.

I've got a soft spot for the Avalanche. Right alongside the Wings, Stars and Lightning. My parents are from MI, and staunch Wings fans by default. Older brother, too, to a point. My brothers also support the Lightning, having grown up in FL.

My older brother, younger brother and I went to a Lightning/Hurricanes game once, and I could not for the life of me figure out why I was getting the steaming mad silent treatment the whole way to the Ice Palace. Took me halfway through first period to realize it was because I wore a red shirt and they thought I was rooting for the 'Canes. Not in a million years, guys XD

My dad and all of my brothers (except youngest, handicapped) have all played on recreational teams (my younger brother even went the extra mile and played roller and field hockey on top of ice hockey) It's basically in their blood. I never played, but I'll watch anything hockey and keep up with the best of 'em

The NHS is a Possesion/Transition focused Offensively orientated Philosophy that ...UTILISES ZERO STATS INPUTS....is guided by 2 core value Processes....Intuitive Dynamic Analysis or IDA and Intuitive Dynamic Management or IDM.....the very concept of defense is disenfranchised, traditional perspectives based on positional names catalysed by olde style structural requirements are replaced by an EveryMan focus which supports a seamless 5 man offensive Unit.

In 2012 the Kings added core value concepts and Process management Programs to their existing System...the results were predictable and dominating. The Kings turned their System into an Adjusted-Hybrid System by adding the NHS templates........…..shortly after that the Hawks added the NHS Templates to their existing System which was duplicating the 2012 Kings Adjusted-Hybrid System....this created an NHS Modified Adjusted-Hybrid System....by adding MORE PURE NHS FOCUS to the Kings already NHS influenced System the Hawks created an improved methodology in 2013...these 2 Teams using the NHLs newest most cutting edge management processes trade Cups for 4 years...until Sidney Crosby clued in and demanded a piece of the pie which was served to him on a Silver Platter by Sullivan who brought the entire NHS Modified Adjusted-Hybrid knowledge to the already powerful Penguins....and Sidney enjoyed a massive career resurgence and 2 more Cups....Ovechkin was an outlier and even his Team added some NHS focuses 2 years before they won......this year the CBJ and Knights who are both using the most advanced tested and tried NHS Modified Adjusted Hybrid Systems will battle it out...it will be very much like the 2012---2015 Kings vs Hawks series.

As long as EveryMan on the Roster can provide AVERAGE NHL SKLLS IN ALL AREAS....then the Team can win the Stanley Cup no problems....so 5-6 really good d-men aren't needed....23 men who can provide an EveryMan average NHL toolbox and skillset are needed....anything over and above is great but not required....Vegas is the perfect example of a top to bottom NHS built Roster....they were able to build a very balanced Roster.....other already established NHL Teams are hindered because of the adjustment lagtime when you add the NHS....your Roster will have to PLAY DOWN the inputs of it Superstars....and offensive production is spread thru the entire lineup....you cannot earn more minutes because your overall skillset is superior...only an EveryMan level of skill is required...EXECUTION OF THOSE EVERYMAN DUTIES IS PARAMOUNT ABOVE SUPER-SKILLS......its sometimes really upsetting to elite players and disrupting to organisational dynamics to add the NHS...this is why Ovie will not repeat nor se another Cup in his career the Caps cannot add the entire NHS Template....because of how they focus around Ovie as an individual.....they never made wholesale NHS changes just a few minor adjustments.

What has happened is that a lot of Cup winners since 2012 have been a part of the NHS evolution...as more Clubs add the NHS the competition becomes extreme between them... they must go haed-to-head both using the same focuses....the 2012 Kings and 2013 Hawks are very much like the CBJ vs Knights....Torts had to ADD the NHS to an existing NHL System sucesfully which he did...that is a fantastic achievement..and a lot of work....the Vegas Knights BEGAN BY BUILDING AN NHS FOCUSED ORGANISATION....a much much easier task but still an incredible feat....Ovie got lucky and the Knights should have won last year.....Ovie is an outlier every single Cup won since 2012 except his was won by a NHS focused Team.

Haven't seen the regular sports-media talking about that, but don't watch the analysts much neither.

Suppose we will have to wait and see, if the new Seattle team heads in this direction.

Calgary has been using variations of the NHS the last 6 years ...I had high hopes for them.. however the Aves are now showing us a more pure closer to source version of the NHS....most NHL Teams are adding the NHS to Systems that are stats focused positionally dependant and structure based …. when most Clubs add the NHS they keep their previous System structure....the idea is to ADD only to improve what is already in place....the philosophy is ADDED along with the constellation of System tactics but in a very tailormade manner....this allows a structure focused System to produce Elite level offense which has never been done before....adding IDA and IDM allowed teams like the 2012 Kings to keep their non-creative defensive focused structure and positionally dependant System BUT still produce as much and more offense than creative free-flow Teams were producing then...….by Teaching the Kings to use properly timed directed-rebound playactions they were able to speed up the execution to elite level overnight(25 regular season games to go in 2012 when they changed over to full-on NHS) and then by adding more NHS tactical focuses to the players toolbox like the "Elbow-Bone Shot" which is a shot at the ribcage armpit area that FREEZES ALL GOALIES and is based upon the NHS Program of Intuitive Dynamic Management and that Goaltenders of the highest pedigree SIMPLY CANNOT STOP no matter where you shoot from.....well this allowed the Kings to keep their structure but produce overwhelming offense....they got to keep their defensive strength but produce river-hockey results and their opponents had to actually abandon their System and play mistake filled River-Hockey to compete....lol...it was diabolical genius.

These NHL Teams have been using only parts of the NewAge Hockey System Philosophy and System....the full and complete NHS System of Play has been kept in stasis since 2009 waiting for a Oilers management group with their head out of their arse long enough to clue in......the entire Philosophy and System was created and built by an EveryFan…..specifically for the Oilers so that they could spearhead an NHL evolution in offense that would BREAK DYNASTY OILERS RECORDS....essentially a System was built in 2009 designed to produce Dynasty 80s Oilers levels of offense in the League as it was run then....and as we have come along that NHS System has also evolved its intentions of producing that record breaking type of offense in an always evolving League.

The NHS is designed to be a 100% offensively focused process that uses NO STATS OR STRUCTURE OR POSITIONAL VULNERABILITY....its designed to score 4-7 goals per game....to hold and keep every single possession only surrendering pucks when they are in the back of the opponents net...and this all happens ASAP at light speeds....applying IDA and IDM allow teams to speed up their execution to incredible levels that structure based defenses cannot transition fast enough to handle and Structure focused Tenders cannot keep up to.

The Knights have been built from the ground up to play an NHS style of NHL Hockey and they built an advanced version....remember the NHS itself was only created in 2009 ….it was showcased informally when it was used for the first time by an NHL Coach on the ice with a NHL Team...Pat Quinn used it with the Oilers in 2009 before he left.

The Knights version or interpretation is most comparable to the Hawks use.....an evolved 2013-2016 Hawks model...and it is performing wonderfully...it has from day one which is the most incredible thing of all....not to me because I understand the hows and whys....but for everyone else to see a raw expansion Team simply walk thru the entire NHL was just to much to buy into....but this year as they again apply their force in the Playoffs we are seeing what is called consistency.

The Aves are using the same NHS Template that the Lightening were using....it is more advanced than the NHS Template the Flames are using and as a result it is by proxy much more offensive than Calgarys System is...the results are proving this out.Calgary kept more structure than the Lightening and Aves but less than the CBJ and Knights......when executed more accurately the Lightening and Aves NHS Template will win 9-10 times.....however when this System runs into another strong NHS focused System using a slightly different Template then both teams end up with the same STRONG CORE VALUES IN THEIR GAMES....this means that it is HARDER for the more offensively focused Template to overcome the more structure based Template UNLESS the Team using the Offensive Template like the Lightening did which is the PUREST FORM has acess to the full and complete NewAge Hockey System ….. and that has never been released...due to this fact the structure loaded NHS Template will always shut down its opposite which is always going to be undermanaged without the "Book".....the Lightening couldn't score 4-7 goals per game....but they could have had they had more acumen using the NHS Template they have adopted....the CBJ use the EXACT same core value focuses as the Lightening do... their Systems are different and the intentions are different but the same Philosophy is being expressed by both.....the Lightening were surgically removed … the Knights would have done the same thing to the Lightening.....for the same reasons.... we may see the Knights remove the Aves like CBJ did to Jon Coopers Boys.

I cant wait for Seattle to come online….mostly because anyone with vision can see how close the Tampa Bay Lightening are to becoming a Dynasty....and the Aves will rip up everyone till they meet the Knights.....so I think smart money says Seattle follows the LIghtening NHS Interpretations and we see a very very offensive addition to the NHL.

Yes, I heard it and saw the presser, Sullivan did the same thing Yserman is doing when he defected to the Penguins.Sullivan worked with Quenville learning how to apply the NHS to an NHL System, then he took an opportunity to take that Newge Hockey System data that had to that date only been shared and learned in the Western Conference with him to the Eastern Conference.
Sullivans results were immediate and the Pens were revived going on to win 2 more Cups , but the League has evolved quickly as Clubs investigate each other tactically and the true high offensive lineage of the NHS is beginning to show as NHL Teams learn use and then move on from defensively based structure laden stats led Systems.

My thread is intentionally written in a broken impulsive manner, because I was not willing to provide the full and complete NewAge Hockey System online and to keep it under wraps I had to be careful what sequence I released what parts of the data in,NHL Coaches are bright and many, back in 2009 I was still creating and refining the NHS, once Pat Quinn used the data I knew it was valid and impactful but there were people on theOilers website who were intentionally coming between me and Oilers Management and Coaching they even went so far as to demand that no one post anything System related on their website to the point of banning me for refusing to adhere......someone working with the Oilers website began taking full on multiple page in-depth posts I was making and waiting till they were posted then deleteing them, only for the exact same data to show up within a few days on another Hockey website....someone within the Oilers corporate body was feeding my stolen data to another online source who was then posting it online as if it was proprietary to them…..when I confronted these people online I quickly realised there was a group of online people working together who had a monopoly on Oilers web material and work..... not only Oilers but the NHL in general......this was already a cabal. The website posting the stolen data of course also banned me for raising caine…..this was back in 2009ish....back then the data was all posted on the Oilers website as I was 100% new to the online world.....at one point after it was clear Players were online and connecting and FOLLOWING WITH GREAT SUCESS the data posted for them someone from the Oilers PMed me and asked me if I could condense my data into 40 minutes so It could be presented to a group.....I replied that I needed more than 40 minutes but that of course we could present things to a group any time....then BANGO THE OILERS WEBSITE MODS BANNED ME COMPLETELY....and that potential connection was immediately broken because I could not go online and reply to the PMs any more or explain I was still willing to connect to whoever wanted to present the data to a large group.

I took my data here to ATS where I knew I would not be intentionally suppressed by a little cabal of online bullies,a cabal that believe it or not today has TRIED to embed Dellow one of their buddies on the Oilers NHL Team using my stolen data disguised behind shallow numbers and stats patterns to unlock the NHL door.

When I was banned from the Oilers site I had no online experience,I was green as spring grass,I did not have the acumen to understand how or why the Oilers online mod had screwed me, until I saw my data re-posted on other sites after I had posted it to the Oilers site ONLY and then had it deleted by Mods(believing it would never be seen again)......of course I sent e-mails to the Oilers Head Office along with ABSOLUTE PROOF that I had been ripped off by their online employees and that I had created the NHS FOR THEM not for others and they basically e-mailed me back and told me that they did not have any interest in the Online side of things and that they did not have employees running the website they had volunteers.Someone blew me off completely....at this point my data had been exclusively posted on their site and had been actively utilised at the NHL level by Players and by their Head Coach, some people in the Oilers org. knew 100% of the NHS and what was happening and some were absolutely clueless....the disconnects within the organisation were of epic nature then ...and now.

When Craig MacTavish made the impulse decision to 86 Ralph Krueger on Skype it was because Dellow and Eakins presented him with much of my stolen data that Eakins had already been using in the AHL to great success.MacTavish immedialy knew the data they had was the same as the data he knew was online on the Oilers site and having positive impacts mostly because of the in-depth value of the data and it is SIGNATURE WRITING intentionally done in a style hard to replicate. The NHS is anti-statistics...anti-structure....it is all based upon intuition empathy and instincts managed with 100% on-ice creativity and flow.....so from day one I clashed with anyone who espoused statistics or numbers when discussing the game in general and when brass tacks went down I went to war to prove the stats were useless to anyone working in the NHL....lol..I was new to the internet and did not understand a lot of online hockey fans had started websites dedicated to selling pushing or brainwashing people with statistics and numbers......it was all they could really post about because they were just fan MOSTLY KIDS....but they started websites early and posted what they could work with to provide constant content to their sites.

Problem was that I actually have a deep Competative Athletic background that includes Amature Coaching and working and Training alongside World Class Olympic level Athletes.I knew what I was talking about from day one on a realistic experiential level......and I was batteling online with hockey stats websites run by people with little to no Athletic or Coaching acumen....and I ha a bone to pick because I eventually realised that an online CABAL or group had intentionally gotten between me and the Oilers Official Reps via the mod banning me the very day an official connection was being made.......then they pirated my data and shared then marketed it …. then when I complained to the Oilers officially they blew me off and simply continued using my NOW LAUNDERED stolen data freely.

Basicly when Kevin Lowe et al discovered what had happened after I officially e-mailed and complained about being hooped on their website ....Kevin Lowe and Upper Management already KNEW that my data had already been positively used at the NHL level by their Players and Coaches....the Oilers officially closed ranks around their website "volunteer" and slammed the door shut.

So the Oilers basically decided to continue to disenfranchise me and they continued to support their website mods actions....creating a Company called Darkhorse Analytics based off of my proprietary data ...even connecting to the cabal the mole was working with which is how Dellow and Eakins popped into the picture out of seemingly nowhere.
...setting up the Sloan Sports Analytics conferences via Oilers owner Katzes powerbase so they could put the "advanced stats" con-jobs on stage to validate them as source of stolen concepts.

Sorry,the answers are complicated.

NHL Teams learn by observation and by evidence....if it doesn't work they don't do it....if someone else is doing it and it works you figure it out like they did and emulate it....this is how Teams keep up with and drive League evolution from Era to Era.

Jarret Stoll and Matt Greene who were traded to the LA kings had experience working with the NHS data as Oilers and they knew the data was valid and powerful and also that Oilers Management and Coaching were not willing to accept or endorse the source of the data....they were some of the Players following and using the NHS....yu think Sam Gagners 8 point night was a fluke....lol...nope he could have repeated that had Coaches embraced what he and his teammates were doing on their own.....Players were rebelling on the Coaches and trying to use the NHS on their own because they knew behind clsed doors that it worked.

So the Oilers Players and Coaches learned of the NHS online because it was created for them and presented to them on their own website....when conflict arose and Oilers management and Coaches refused to endorse or accept the NHS they traded 2 Players to the L.A Kings....2 men who took their growing NHS knowledge with them and who presented it to their Coaches when the Kings were as good as dead in the Playoff race.....as a last resort....and for the first time an NHL Team as a whole bought in together from Players to Coaches....remember Pat Quinn was the very first NHL Head Coach to use the NHS on the ice with his Team in 2009 but he had oppositionally defiant Management who were then already at odds with the source of the data Pat was utilising....so this was how the Oilers and Kings learned of the NHS.....then in 2013 after the Oilers lit up the Hawks and Sammy scored 8 points Bowman blew up post-game and said he saw the Oilers doing some new things transitionally and he was going to get his Managers to look into it....literally that is what he stated.....he was referring to the NHS style the Oilers Players were executing on their own....he did not know of the internal conflicts between Management and the creator of the NHS.....he just knew what he has seen with his own 2 eyes....shortly thereafter the Hawks bought into the NHS 100% and applied it to their own System....resulting in a Cup win in 2013...at this time both Teams were actively following the NHS in real time as it evolved and grew....everyone was learning as things went....with some external directions the Kings and Hawks exchanged Stanley Cups twice....no one was allowed to win back to back to define a possible Dynastys beginning...either Team could have won 3 in a row.....so from 2012 to 2015 only Teams using the NHS had won Stanley Cups and the Western Conference turned hockey on its ear...the NHS had grown....it was time to take it to the Eastern Conference so some online pressure was put on Crosby to learn exactly how and why his entire Hockey world had gone sour and everything had suddenly tilted in the Western Conferences direction till he clued in....when he did clue I he acted immediately because he is SMART....lol...and he scalped Sullivan and his now deep NHS acumen from the Black Hawks......instantly the Penguins walked to the Cup as the Kings and Hawks had before them...as history shows us the NHS is a 100% offensively focused philosophy that Teams tone down to handle... but the more skill you add to the Roster man for man the more impactfull and dominating the NHS becomes....the Kings were the first step in the learning curve a defensive type team that was kicksarted by the NHS....then the Hawks a deeper skilled Roster used the same Philosophy and System to overwhelm the Kings with offense...the Hawks would not have lost to the Kings the 2nd time had there not been intervention preventing them from winning(the Kings were given tips)....then once the Penguins learned of the NHS and applied it to an even DEEPER skilled Roster the results were now predictable as they overwhelmed everyone and won 2 Cups in a row with zero external online influences getting in their way...the Pens were not involved with real-time online interactions with the creator of the NHS....once Sidney was clued in and they hired Sullivan they were on their own.Ovie and the Caps could have been beaten had the Pens had some help in real-time online....but they had no help…..Ovie and the Caps were a one-off...they don't use much of the NHS....but the League now has many Teams usig the NHS....Lightening-Pens-CBJ-Knights_FLames-Leafs_Islanders-Aves and more and any single one of these NHS utilising Clubs will easily pick off the Caps....I don't give Ovie much of a chance as the Playoffs go deeper because most Teams will soon be NHS focused Clubs and that spells defeat for any other type of Philosophy or System.

So that's pretty much how Teams learned and still learn....all of them have been to ATS because I have specifically posted my entertainment value fiction ONLY ON ATS....nowhere else...anyone wishing to learn has to come here....over the many years that I have posted on ATS there are many instances in Regular Season and in Playoffs where I have done real-time online full spectrum Game analysis...this means in-game interactions....lol...with 100% proof.....I used t sit with my Family and do games live and I would let them name Oilers players who they wanted to see score...then I would dial in analysis directing tactics that would make it happen...they could even have shot choice.....lol.... and yes this is all documented online....its convoluted but its all there if you know what you are looking for.You can follow along as I do analysis I real-time with Playoff Teams and they do exactly as I say to great successes...every team that has won the Stanley Cup since 2012 has used some degree of the NHS even Ovie and the Caps made small NHS additions a few years ago.In most years you can follow along on ATS...in real-time....the best examples are with the Kings and Hawks in the early years when I pitted one Club using my NHS against another also using it but overlain atop a very different base System. The Stanley Cup was ping-ponged between both Teams for 4 years and we could have extended that had Sidney not been indoctrinated to what was going on.After 2015 it was time for the NHS to be taken to the Eastern Conference to benefit the entire NHL.The rest is history. Now we have the best Teams in the NHL ALL USING THE NHS...the CBJ and the Knights applying the most NHS data the most accurately....naturally they will be Cup finalists.

He had a slow start but his Veteran impact is really something the Leafs need more of.

I think this is a 7 gamer....and we will see youth vs vets...….under huge pressure....with Officials also under great pressure to not become the deciding factor.T.O pretty much has to open it up and roll the dice next game because a Game 7 with no whistles and both teams allowed to open up physically does not bode well for the Leafs....last game the Bruins played a Chess game when they should have been much more physical....the 2nd game of the series defined Bostons optimal path and they have veered further and further away from it with each loss.....but if this goes to 7 games and the whistles get put away we will see a real serious physical NHL Playoff game happen....this puts things center-stage inside the Bruins Wheelhouse.

I hope it goes to 7 games, thats always the best Hockey.I am waiting for Tavares to take over a game...he is hiding in the weeds....he is worth one game on his own if he hits his stride.

If a Team has the Refs in their back pocket for long enough they begin to develop bad habits and to atrophy in hidden areas hard to see….if a Group of players gets used to this and they KNOW it is happening they become COMPLACENT....if this goes on for a few years consistently then is stopped cold-turkey....well maybe that Team finds itself rightfully in Penalty trouble because it has become complacent with a very weak PK because it has atrophied due to unnatural under-utilisation.

The Leafs are taking very real penalties because all season long they were allowed to get away with specific types of fouls that SUPPORTED THEIR SYSTEM AND STYLE UNFAIRLY . These are bad habits equating to cheating the line which breed complacency....this cannot be changed now only next year MAYBE....they cant kill penalties because they have spent 2 years aggressively pushing offensively up the arses of everyone they played because of their hidden hands helping them with whistles and non-whisltes as needed keeping them on the PP at MOMENTUM TURNING MOMENTS...not giving them the PP edge by volume every night sometimes picking spots and sometimes using volume.

Dubas is the major reason for a lot of the Leafs problems right now...Babcock has not IMHO been given a balanced Roster to work with they are entirely lopsided on the high skill side....way overskilled and underexperienced.Thats not Babcocks fault.

I see Babcock sending a message already....he knows his Teams weaknesses better than we do....he will continue to plug Muzzin into critical roles.....lol...lol...he will give Dubas so much Muzzin that if the Leafs go down swinging it will be clear to everyone why.

Game 7 here we come. This is what its all about.High pressure high risk high rewards.

Well so much for Canadas last hope...I lay this absolutely on Dubas...man did he ever screw things up in Toronto in a heartbeat...like any con-job fraud would.....lol....Babcock is way to good to work with people like Dubas who are not vetted Pros....poor Mike had nowhere near the type of Team depth e needed to win in the Playoffs....there was NO BALANCE....just a boatload of smallish weaker softer offensive guys with a #1 defenseman who looks like Kessler and is a snowflake with no teeth basically a 4th forward who is a snowflake.....Babcock was forced to play Muzzin who was way overtasked
and an injured Gardiner...he had no reliable back-up Goalie....he had a very weak forward group with little to no muscle who tried to skate their way through an NHL playoff round playing river-hockey BECAUSE THEY HAD TO DUE TO THE GMS SCREWED UP ROSTER BUILD.

There is always next year.

I think it was a big mistake for Toronto to not come out with the muscle and speed and grit to support their elite offensive guys....because had they been bigger faster and had more defensive size and speed and grit with some legitimate big hitters they could have played a Boston style series and rolled over the Bruins....instead of focusing on their own game style because their roster wasn't balanced enough to execute it they had to spend time focusing on mostly not letting Boston play a Boston style of game...and really it was clear the Bruins had some kind of a Pre-Series plan that was strong enough to keep Marchand in check....must be strong voo-doo IMHO....but the Bruins had the Leafs number and broke their momentum enough times to win the series....really they simply outmuscled the Leafs to many times and used their muscle and focus to establish and keep DOMNANT BODY POSITION....one could fairly say the Leafs lost because of a slow defense that is undersized with very little grit and because they didn't have the size weight and experience up front to win the board game...which is the NHL Playoff basics....the Leafs are in the same position the Oilers were in before they traded Hall for Lucic and then had Kassian AND Lucic...and before they brought in Larrsson...same holes cause by the same G.M errors.

I want to see the Leafs listen to Babcock and move on from Dubas...clearly the League now knows Torontos glaring weaknesses as it was with the Oilers and nO ONE IS GOING TO WORK WITH DUBAS on deals to fill those needs without fleecing the kid.Bringing in a new G.M brings in a new bargaining dynamic full of new opportunities....the Leafs are a strong Canadian icon and need to make hay now they have fired three rounds of Mathews and Co. already. They are in a WIN NOW situation.Next year hopefully the Cup comes North.

THIS right here is why I was really hoping they did it this time, too many sad playoff hangovers the morning after.
Its rough being a lifelong leafs fan, they haven't won a cup since the 60's and I wasn't born yet.

They had a great season and its good experience for next year, although I have said that many times before.

I guess since its over, I'd like to see Ovechkin get another Cup, but Columbus is hard to hate right now.
