I heard there were some issues with the original design of the intakes. The gear doors are interesting too.

the landing gear is very different than the B2, and seems less robust.

Do you think they have some sort of DAS to help with what looks like a pretty narrow FOV out of the windscreen??

It's supposed to be a fair bit lighter than the B-2, so it doesn't need to be as robust. The gear doors are totally different too.

I suspect they have a LIDAR system, similar to the B-2, with a robust SAR capability.

sneeze Harrier sneeze..Phantom served us pretty well..

Now that Im talking to You, will You tell everyone EXACTLY why Edwards is one of the two lead facilities for test and evaluation..Tinker being the other is obvious..maintenance, Why Edwards?..I seriously don't think its just because it has a bombing range…Im thinking's whatever numbers anyone talking here has concerning max altitude on this one are severely understated…its a space base..isnt it?

Those side windows are pretty narrow though. They aren't going to have great visibility.

Remote area, very little population around it, easy access to the ocean, meaning very little exposure time. And the ranges are all unpopulated, restricted access. Sorry, no space base.

Don't be surprised if you start getting random messages asking for swag.

So, a few interesting things. The close up, well lit pic shows the only access panels/screws that you can see are around the windscreen, where the windscreen attaches to the fuselage. Outside of that, you can't see any panel lines.

The windscreen matches up pretty well to the rendering. The side windscreens are at a pretty severe angle, and narrower than expected.

The intakes show some very interesting flow control at work. Those are about as narrow as we saw on the MQ-25 Stingray, which is much smaller, and only one engine. I'd love to see the flow control specs on those things.

The color is much lighter than expected. It's almost white, it's so light. It's definitely grey, but it's an extremely light grey. It looks much darker in evening light. They had the aircraft rolled out on the 29th, during the evening for pictures, and it looks much darker. So it appears to change colors somewhat depending on lighting.

The landing gear doors are almost completely different from the B-2. Unlike the B-2, there's no front nose gear door, just the side door. They also don't appear attached to the strut. The panels appear to be less serrated as well.

In general…..is it possible that all that was seen of the exterior, is not all that there is?……

Don’t want to expose to much for the general public eyes….what was shown possibly just base line model?

Just curious

That’s why they limited views to head on. But almost 99% of the stuff they want hidden is under the hood, where only the people working on it will see it. We’ll figure out a little more about it once it starts flying, but most of what I know comes from rumor mill.
