B.E.E Black Economic Empowerment

just wanted to share this because i think it is really interesting.
i know every now and then we have some discussions about the climate in south africa.

my buddy lives in durban and he has been telling me about this.

as he explains it the ANC (might not be them) or whoever is running the show it basically making it so white owned companies and companies that have a majority of white workers as opposed to black lose business.

each company gets a BBE rating.
black owned? higher rating
more black people working for you? higher rating

things like that

as he explains it companies are basically forced to buy their goods from companies with a high BBE rating. if they buy from companies with a low or lower rating then their rating goes down and people best not buy from them.

rating = 0

because it is a white(jewish if that matters) owned company in that climate in south africa

obviously things were terrible for black people during apartheid.
it ended in 94 i think and now it is sort of reversed.

not the exact same but things are bad and getting worse for white people.

this is the governments way of making sure only black owned and operated businesses make it.


he also said the infrastructure down there is not good and no qualified people to fix it(read into that what you will) but in durban which is one of the largest cities in south africa they lose power for 2 hours a day as a rolling blackout kind of deal.

they have to lose power so some other city or town or whatever can get some

We'll never get rid of racism.

It'll always exist in one form or another.

I've come to accept that because religion, where we're all told to love one another is still fighting each other.

If you have an institution that preaches love, and they can't get along, then biases based on skin color will never go away. People will always use it as an excuse for retribution. White vs black, black vs white, etc.

We are a very ugly violent species of ape. And as a species, we like war.

i agree with you

if in 100 years all of us have melded together and are all some shade of taupe of off white then we will most certainly find another reason to divide ourselves.

This is just dumb.

I remember when everyone said to buy cars that were made in the US instead of Japanese. The problem
was that at the time US cars sucked. People just bought them because of the title. It didn't
take long for people to realize that a poor product just isn't worth it. Now cars and their parts are made
everywhere, so even if it from Japan, it may have US components and vice versa.

Not sure about Africa, but if this is truly the system they use, only the consumer will be hurt in the end.
The reverse might actually happen too, whites will only buy from those with low B.E.E ratings.

25 year old white male. metallurgist with the same company 20 years.

if the company folds up because they lose too much business then my friend and people like him are screwed.
he will not be able to get a job.

his wife is a receptionist there.
she will not be able to get a job

fast food is about the only option.


white people that lose the jobs they currently have will not be able to get another.
nobody will hire them because their BEE rating will suffer

It’s been here. Al Sharpton and gang rate businesses through the NAACP for donations. Except it doesn’t matter how the buisiness treats blacks or how many they hire, it matters how much they donated. Refuse to pay and you are a racist organization.

Well if that is the case, they will lose good people for no reason other than racism, and yes that is racism, and those cities/countries will reap what they sow.

If I was SA white person. I would do everything in my power to get armed to the teeth and organize with my neighbors as soon as possible. That is, if you have nowhere else to go.
