Maybe masculinity is needed for mental health and stability? Look at the high, high rates of death either due to gang violence or due to suicide in young men.

Maybe the problem is pressure put on them to be some kind of "man" while there's no way to live up to that mythical creature in their reality?

Survival of the fittest is a myth. See peacock.
How do you define masculinity and what would it be good for in todays world?
Those who adapt survive.

That's not at all what the OP is about. China sissy school is the topic. Not falsely diagnosed with adhd because the parents can't handle their kids.
So okay yeah, not what I wanted to discuss...

ADHD is an easy thing to get wrong though. We could have made that mistake very, very easily. Between an auditory disorder, high activity level (he's an intelligent boy), disorder of written expression, and high levels of anxiety our kiddo crosses off a lot of the boxes that get earmarked for ADHD.
And boys get tagged for it a lot more than girls do because boys are more prone to being active to begin with and their nature makes them prone to acting out for every other problem. Why? Because they are boys! And in today's classroom environment, teachers expect them to behave like little girls at the start.

There are a lot of examples for boys. During their early years they have a ton of energy, they want to squirm and yell and be active. Schools hate that.

Notice all the headlines of teachers taping children's mouths and stuff is almost always about boys. When I grew up boys were allowed to play with fake guns and knives and play cops and robbers. They were allowed to be active and jump around and play with dirt.

For girls I'll give you a perfect example. My daughter has long hair, VERY long beautiful feminine hair.
A week doesn't go by without someone telling her to cut it. Complete strangers have said she should donate it to cancer patients. Um.. she is kinda wearing it..
Boy, 5, says teachers taped his mouth shut, threw away his lunch
Staff had the students involved come to the office to write out statements, and a school resource officer spoke with the boy who was taped. He told the officer he thought the teacher had taped his legs, chest and mouth with masking tape to teach him not to get out of his seat, but he didn’t understand why she taped his mouth, according to the report.

And who's to say that shorter hair can't be feminine.

What would masculinity be good for in this day and age? If they grow up without developing it maybe it's a sign that's a trait they simply never needed.

Guess what's not really a problem. Your examples are just a few anecdotes being used to spread an agenda (left is bad!). Teachers are not running rampant taping boys mouths shut. What is really happening?
