F-16's playing Downunder

It seems that some of the Alaska based F-16's painted up like aggressors have been visiting our shores this week at RAAF WIlliamtown. This would explain the chatter I heard about a KC-135R at RAAF Richmond. I wonder what they have been getting up too?

I would assume so Woody. Plus the Growlers and E-7's. Actually with the announcement of the G-550 EW's we are getting the RAAF is putting together quite a powerful force of EW and SIGINT aircraft when you consider F-35, E-7 Wedgetails, EA-18G and now these G550's/MC-55A Peregrines.

Why is it that the agressors get the coolest paintjobs?

They paint them to match potential adversary paint schemes. My personal favorite, in a WTF kind of way is The Rotten Banana out of Fallon. Nellis is currently working on an Su-57 scheme, based on a social media vote.

They watch things like air parades, which tend to debut new paint schemes. At one of them in Russia, there was a hideous yellow striped aircraft, so they copied it, thinking it was new. Turned out to be a one off for the parade.

Interestingly, against the desert, it's damn near impossible to see when above it looking down.

Saw some Army Trucks heading North up the Bruce yesterday towards the Sunshine Coast.Will keep my eyes out over the bay.
