Police are responding to a critical incident in Christchurch, New Zealand after a gunman is believed to have opened fire inside a busy mosque.

Ten emergency service vehicles are at the scene and police said it is an “evolving situation”.

Why.....

Another eyewitness claims he saw a man wearing a “helmet and glasses and a military style jacket” enter the mosque and open fire.

It’s understood about 300 people were inside for afternoon prayers when the shooting happened. There are reports children were also at the scene

This is unheard of in NZ... we arent these types of people. We are peace loving, friend helping and consider all living things our whānau..

I always told myself when terrorism hits NZ it will be a red line...

A witness says many people have been killed in a mass shooting at a mosque in the New Zealand city of Christchurch. Police have not described the scale of the Friday shooting but urged people in central Christchurch to stay indoors. Witness Len Peneha says he saw a man dressed in black enter the Masjid Al Noor mosque and then heard dozens of shots, followed by people running from the mosque in terror. He says he also saw the gunman flee before emergency services arrived Peneha says he went into the mosque to try and help: “I saw dead people everywhere.” Again, police have not confirmed casualty numbers, though we have seen footage of several people being wheeled into Christchurch hospital for treatment following the shooting. We will let you know as soon as police or other authorities confirm casualties.

Isn't NZ just an extension of australia though? They already disarmed everyone so what's the goal. Cracking down on "alt media".

Well, considering he posted to twitter before he made the 8chan post, does that mean twitter is dangerous too?

This is a horrific event regardless.

If this guy was posting all over open web about what he was about to do or potentially do, why on end wasn’t he picked up?

You gotta ask that question.

I can’t look for or watch any footage he might have posted.

#UPDATE: Shooter shot approx 50 people and reloaded an assault rifle around 5 times in the video and then swaps to a possible sub machine gun outside the mosque
