All of them are talented ladies, but the best the world has to offer? No. There's a host of talented female veteran guitar players that inspired this generation to pick up the guitar as well as other instruments.

Jennifer Batten
Nancy Wilson
Lita Ford
Charo - Yes Charo
Joanna Connor
Mary Ford
Elizabeth Cotton

The list could go on and on. Also check out the some of the Japanese female guitarists. Kanami Tono of Band-maid is an incredible guitarist, and a good place to start.

I don't know about Lita Ford in that list! She wasn't too hard on the eyes in her day, but one of the 'best guitarists' in the World??? I'm not so sure on that count.

ETA - I'd definitely put her up there with being one of the best female rockers for sure, but best guitarist's? Mmmmmmm... Joan Jett could play better than Lita.

Bonnie Raitt is fantastic for sure

of that list i would have to say that while not my favorite Jennifer Batten is leagues above them and most other female guitarists.

I would put her among the best female rock guitarists. I have seen her play some complex stuff, and even Joan has said Lita is better. Unfortunately, I can't give you a link, I read it in a comment Joan made years ago. Nevertheless, Lita is certainly not the best on the short list I gave.

It would be really hard to name the very best among female guitarists, but Bonnie, Jennifer, and Mary have to be among them.
