Tina Tchen who is in Foxx's text messages about Smollett was MO's former COS and BO's assistant. She has her scheming fingers in all kinds of pies. I found her at Civic Nation with her gal pal Valerie Jarrett and other BO minions. She is also pals with Jurnee Smollett - Bell.

In the Smollett case, I am wondering...

If the case had been tried locally, then it could not be tried federally.

The route the case has taken is to allow the Feds to charge on postal violations ... and ... bring Smollett in to be questioned by the FBI. He no longer has the protection of the State system.

And the Feds get to indite others for tampering with the case.

Big heads can roll with it going in this direction.

I think they walked into a Q trap.

Yes they did, grand jury charges dismissed by the prosecutor, 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct. There's already federal charges pending for mail fraud. Oh lets not forget the charges for a hate crime at the federal level. I don't care how friggin connected you are you're going down. Pretty obvious how this one was going, Auntie Kamala, MO get the charges dismissed with a 400K pay off from Uncle George. The Fed charges get dropped (due to some hmmmmmmmm influence) and all is right with the world for that friggin silver spoon scum bag. I have a feeling it's not going to work out that way.

It will be an epic bit of ironic history when the TV personality who used the punch line "you're fired" comes to clean house in DC and give a former president the boot in his rear.

Depending on the charges it can be tried in both. For example, lets say I'm a counterfeiter. I print a bunch of $100 bills, that's a federal crime. Now I take those same $100 bills and spend them at my local grocery store. Well that's fraud at the state level. I can be prosecuted for both

Basically, JS is in mega-hot water with his federal charges.

Just like when a person catches a bunch of charges, the prosecutor will drop the minor infractions to keep the case on track. Say you threw a kilo of coca out the window when speeding. The littering ticket and speeding will go away pretty quick.

With that in mind, it's perfectly normal to let this clown skate in county court and let him get on with fighting his federal counts. A local trial would be a FIASCO, and would do more harm than winning justice in a few ~minor~ infractions....especially if no victim is named.

It takes me a moment to figure things out, but this is most definitely the case. Yes, they threw him a bone. All things considered, it's not a game changer.

As we have heard nothing in the 6 hours since the post, I would guess it's more about arrest or trial of the perps of the original bugging - but who knows, we'll have to wait until we are told.

You are 100% correct. Your scenario is how things would have played out if this was the pre-Trump federal government. But, those corrupt DOJ/FBI officials are now (mostly) gone from the picture.

Absolutely right but in this case, from what I'm seeing from a number of sources this was Chicago corruption at it's finest. I'm seeing the fix was in with the feds ala' Bob Mueller and Boston. The charges in Chicago get dropped via some influence and the nod nod wink wink was supposed to be a done deal with the Chicago FBI field office. The fix is tied to a lot of Chicago politicos and that's been exposed because of the outrage. And to add insult to injury, the arrogance of his "I've been vindicated" press conference.
