Then post those sources, please. If we're talking about your opening statement that I said is false, I'd LOVE to see data to back that up. I don't know a single person who wants completely open borders, and I haven't seen a single person on here say that they do either.

As I said in my post, I'm in no way trying to defend the gang, I even called them animals. I'm not saying anything negative towards the police force either, that's a terrifying thing to have to think about/deal with, and I do not envy them. I also never said that it isn't disturbing. It's a terrifying proposition to have a gang possibly doing recon on their homes. LEOs have my full respect, I have several family members who are cops as well. I'm not saying anything negative about the cops, it seems that you're defensive of something I didn't say and don't mean.

However, I feel the need to point a couple things out.

1. Cops are targeted by gangs all the time. It would give a gang member tremendous street cred to kill a cop, regardless of what gang they are in. Why is being targeted by MS-13 any worse than being targeted by bloods/crips/hells angels/triads/etc? Yes, they are the most violent, but that doesn't mean that other gangs aren't violent.

2. As cliche as it is to say, they chose that job. I'm not saying that to downplay what they do, or to lessen their feelings or the danger they put themselves in, or anything like that. It's a dangerous job to be sure, and I didn't choose to be a cop for that specific reason, I didn't want to deal with that danger. For those who do/did, I'm in their debt forever and appreciate what they do, but they know going into it that it's a possibility to be targeted by an evil person.

Not that I need to, but I would state that to a cop, because they know it as well as I do, it's a dangerous job. That's my entire point...one specific gang targeting cops is not breaking news, because several gangs already do that.

That is the difference in walls inside the usa and walls on the border. If you climb someones wall to their home and claim asylum they can still shoot you are have you arrested but if you climb the wall at the border and claim asylum then they can give you a court hearing for your claim.

A wall is a waste of time and only is done as a pacifier to people who buy into the hoopla.

Once whatever amount of wall is constructed there will be no change in asylum claims because of it. The people that are coming in to claim asylum will continue until it is illegal to cross and claim asylum anywhere.


If you have a mansion on a hill with a secure fence and say if you can reach the mansion then you can stay then people will reach the mansion but if you say if you attempt to breach the perimeter of this fence surrounding this mansion then you will be arrested or shot then no one will try to get into your mansion.

On top of that the numbers have been steadily declining anyhow and ending welfare for people will keep them from coming to receive welfare.

I have the belief that if drugs were legal in the usa and there was no welfare system then we would not need a border. People could come and work and then go home after a couple years. There would not be all the smuggling going on and the number of drug users would be near the same rate per capita as it has always been.

People that were too lazy to work would leave once they seen there is no free lunch.

Add those changes to removing sanctions on other countries and people there would not be coming in caravans looking for a handout.

I have to say, i doubt a wall will make a ton of difference in the end to the total number of illegal immigrants in America, and i support the legalization and regulation of most drugs, but this is by far the biggest leap of logic i've seen. Drugs are far from the only reason people cross the border illegally, and the only one really being smuggled in large quantities across the open mexican border is pot. Opiates and coke tend to go through hidden in goods and other things through legit crossings.

The only real way to stop the problem is to stop giving them jobs, punish those that do and anyone that harbours them, stop giving them benefits and deport immediately with no questions asked. They'll risk crossing wall or not because once they're here there's no reason for them to worry. Not much happens when or if they do get caught and they can make a living and have a place to live pretty easily.

That's why...#in landmines. Cost effective and watching your hombres get maimed and blown to pieces is some pretty good incentives to maybe not risk crossing.

If this story is remotely true then the only headline Americans should be reading is "ms13 gang members arrested for threatening police".

Anything less than that is just pandering to people fear and past events that bring up a feeling of insecurity.

If there are no handouts by government and we have a strong economy then we need people to come here and work and if they have no benefit to stay other than work then most of them as in the past just go home after a couple years of work.

I do not feel that someone working and not taking government money harm the country in any way and with the other changes it would limit people coming here.

If we had legal access to drugs then the cartels would be out of business and the price could be low enough to even effect our own crime rate since people do some crazy stuff in order to support a habit and that would make the other countries safer.

I am interesting in knowing what effect coca cola company has on the cartels. It seems that if we just started importing leaves then perhaps overtime their governments would become more stable and the job market would be less underground there.
