Most recently, there were multiple Smollett threads. If I had some news to share, I had to do a copy/paste of that news into every applicable Jussie Smollett thread.

Now, we're getting the Venezuela related threads multiplying like rabbits..

Are ATS members satisfied with the current set-up? Or would you prefer to see a single thread for a topic that's "hot" at the moment?

Personally, I'd LOVE to see the moderators shut down a thread if it's broadly on the same subject as the original, and add a final post saying: "Thread Closed. Add additional content to the original thread here: www.abovetopsecret.com/xxxxxxxx."

Naturally, you wouldn't want this for long-running topics, like Moon/Mars anomalies. But for HOT topics of the moment, like Ginsburg, Venezuela Uprising, Covington kids, etc.. a single thread would (IMO) be better for learning and sharing. Learning/Sharing today, and when re-visiting the subject 2 or 10 years from now. Seeing everything under one umbrella is nice and convenient.

I thought they did that already.

When did you become a socialist?

I thought multiple breaking news posts were thinned but there are many discussions to be had on some topics

when I'm on two competing threads, I feel so dirty.

There's an old saying by a guy named Bob....
"No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other" or something like that. It's such a disappointing waste of time to fall for those tricks.

The process of becoming an "ATS Socialist" has in the making for awhile. The 7 Jussie Smollett threads, followed by the blooming Venezuela threads, triggered me to start this thread.

Only if it's a duplicate thread with almost the same title as the original...started within a couple hours of the original.

So who do you want to devote your time to? The first or the best ?

I try to stay with the FIRST thread, but often times the next thread takes off and gets the most attention.

I would love to be able to choose which forums I see in the "new" list.

But not triggered as much as when trying to post or navigate, when ATS is non-responsive.

That is one ATS viewing option I've never used. You miss when updated info is added to threads started last week, or sooner. But I realize from an ATS poll that a lot of members ONLY read newly created threads.

Personally, even if there are a dozen threads already on the same topic ...I always feel that the thread I'm starting on the subject should be the one, definitive thread that everyone should go to.
And I haven't been wrong about that yet.

Do you expect members to migrate to your thread and repost their comments there?

I would agree but what if it is you or Xeu who start the thread? Your threads are usually from websites that play on lies, use misleading information or contain cherry picked facts.

Don't you? Why would you even ask?

I try to avoid placing that burden on anyone, by searching to see if the subject already exists, before starting a thread on it.

Well, to paraphrase Crocodile Dundee... "You call that a thread? THIS is a thread."

You don't like what you see, so you blame the messenger. Then it's your duty to set the record straight by starting a thread you feel is ACCURATE...assuming you care enough.

Actually I was thinking of starting a new thread about the pros and cons of having multiple threads on the same subject. Feel free to weigh in with your opinion on my new thread. (Covers mouth and giggles mischievously)
