Rutger Bregman is the Dutch historian who became a global sensation after an appearance at this year’s Davos summit, where he accused attending billionaires of ignoring taxation. Now he has created another viral moment in an extremely uncomfortable interview with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson.

"Go FU*K yourself" lol. Tucker is my favorite reporter/journalist. I like the cut off his jib. He's actually very smart and has strong common sense, something not see much these days in the media.

When Maddow says anything even remotely interesting or half intelligent please let us know. We all got tired of waiting and moved on.

My point stands.

Free speech and Tucker is awesome
Sure

Fact is if it were a CNN anchor they would be getting ripped up.

This is a fact

I'm not sure you know what a "fact" is.

Hint: your opinions aren't facts.

I find that repetition of "fact" equates to "my opinion is." Maddow says what she wants and some people pay attention to her.

An out of context video? I’m not surprised. If this was a Dem or CNN anchor they’d be crying how edited the video was, like they do with Project Veritas.

Fact is, that Carlson has more journalistic integrity in one finger than

Some CNN anchor
has in their entire being.

I love that Tucker look, the one he always has, the dumb wide eyed open mouth look. Like he has no idea what a guest is talking about, especially when they bring up things like facts.

He got mad because he was called out. It is the usual thing that happens when Fox anchor is presented with facts, they over react or try to talk over the person.

This is why they keep pretty blondes on FOX, so the conservative men have something shiny to look at while being manipulated into believing anything. LMAO

Don’t know which one you watched but I saw the whole video. “You and all fox anchors are millionaires paid by billionaires “. About sums it up.

This guy was advocating for "70, 80, 90%" marginal tax rates as some kind of way to return to economic glory days, and Tucker let him have his say, and allowed that a discussion on taxation was warranted.

The interview devolved after Bregman started attacking Carlson simply because he is a "millionaire being paid by a billionaire"...orange man bad, you know, and success bad too...saying that Carlson was taking "dirty money", saying he was part of the problem, and that Bregman was "speaking truth to power".

Just because you are being rude and obnoxious when in the presence of your betters, does not mean you are speaking truth to power. You actually have to have a point.

Carlson is swamp material but he did bring up valid points that bregman tried to ignore.

1. The 40 50 60 etc economy is not the same as todays global economy.

2. Despite the tax rate on the uber rich being 70-90% during those times , what kind of a moron actually believes that they were paying that. Especially back than when things were harder to track without computer records or global data available at your fingers tips.

3. What is the point of raising the tax rate if the uber rich arent paying it.

Bregman completely dismisses those points.

Unless their are no deductions its pointless to talk about tax rates.

Not sure bregman won that round

I don't think it's a job of a historian to come up with solutions to economic problems. His job is to raise awareness about the problem. Of course the rich never paid 70% in taxes, but at least they tried to hide it back then. Today they are not even hiding it.

In my opinion, Bergman won on k.o. Especially when he pointed out that Tucker is a millionaire and Tucker lost his #. But kudos to Tucker for not denying being a shill for the wealthy. Left leanig millionaires pretending to care about the middle class and the poor could learn something from this and offer their support to their colleague. At the end of the day they are all millionaires, left or right, and would fight for less taxation of the rich with all means. Human greed does not know color or political affiliation
