I have had something similar happen in the past, but my then girlfriend and I were sleeping separately yet we had the same dream, and it was a long dream. We were miles apart she was sleeping in her parent's home and I with mine when we were very young. We both could tell exactly what the other dreamt.

I just struck out, today, for about, the 21st time if my calculations are correct. Maybe 22.. We lasted over a year. But she had to move far away, it can't work. Facts had to be faced. Etc. I'm absolutely devastated. I was gonna move there towards the 2nd half of the year. I was going to leave behind everything I ever knew in WA state... to a place with snow on the ground 7 or 8 months out of the year... And I'm utterly destroyed when I should be relieved.

But, you know what they say... 22nd (or 23rd) time's the charm.

Not exactly short-circuited, but a better simplification would be drugged. Psychotropic drugs mask the pain alert with a pleasure alert inside the brain itself and therefore reinforce the actions that lead to the conditions present, including both the acquisition and use of the drug and the potentially pain-causing circumstances. In this case, both the pleasure and pain signals could be getting jammed open and thereby causing aberrant behaviors to develop. Since mental health is closely linked to physical health, likely through the telomere repletion system for example, that could also explain the seeming increase in diseases like cancer, Parkinsons, Alzheimers, etc.

When we sleep, our brain periodically creates mysterious "neural waves" to generate electrical fields that, as scientists found, can allow parts of the brain to communicate with one another - even when not physically connected. Thats sort of why I need to keep an eye on it.

When I was first diagnosed with MS in 1993 they found three lesions (sclerosis) on my brain, severe physical symptoms at the time lasted months.
Today I have...well, at least two dozen lesions, but those obscure the image to the point that they don't really know how many all together.
Physical symptoms are mild considering, loss of fine motor control, sudden onset of periodic extreme loss of physical strength and balance that seems to turn off and on like a switch. Catch me at a bad moment and you will assume I am VERY drunk.
I have often wondered about the mechanism that allows me to continue to function reasonably well in the midst of all the damaged tissue.
Perhaps this is it, ask a doctor about it and they are all pretty clueless.
I have seen other patients crippled for life with just one or two lesions.
Guess I'm one of the "lucky" ones.

Not entirely true...you CAN be alone in your mind with great effort...and the more than just ourselves can be cut as well...those silly fools believe we will NEVER attain our freedom.
