And I can't help but point out, scaredtosleep said they're taking down a significant number of child trafficking rings, and you still say you want them abolished? That seems a bit heartless...

You even quoted me... Yes... Abolish and replace!

Do you realize, how many attacks and other tragic events the FBI has prevented? You should look into things the FBI, have protected us from, before you judge.

And that excuses them how when it comes to obvious, blatant fails on a grand scale such as this, school shootings, bombings and so forth?

Do you know how big the FBI is? You know how much money we pump into them every year? ....and you're protecting these guys? Seriously?

What if they did the exact thing with a suspected terrorist and tomorrow that same terrorist sets off a nuke suitcase in the middle of manhattan? Would you say the same then?

Somehow I don't think so.

She had done nothing illegal prior to defecting. What could they have legally done? What would you have liked them to do?

You even quoted me... Yes... Abolish and replace!

What you're quoting from me has nothing to do with what you're saying, just fyi.

Why abolish and replace? Multiple people on here are showing you how much good they do. What, specifically, is your reasoning for wanting to get rid of the FBI in it's entirety?

ETA: They didn't drop the ball in any way in the original example you gave. They did all that they legally could. So there must be another reason?

Hey man... Keep up or just don't bother.

I don't know what I'm supposed to be keeping up with. The example you gave doesn't hold any weight, she had done nothing illegal (yet).

Someone else posted links to a lot of attacks they've prevented.

We haven't been attacked by an outside force in almost 2 decades (although that isn't really their job).

What are they doing wrong?

Ok, I re-read it. Your point is that the FBI let her go, which was, according to you, "the biggest screw-up I have ever seen". Correct? The FBI screws up a lot, and this was the biggest screw-up, according to you.

My point is, how did they screw up? What should they have done differently?

She had done nothing outright illegal up to that point, they legally couldn't arrest her, or anything along those lines. So they gave her a warning, which is all they could legally do at that point in time.

Unless you're suggesting they should have illegally held her?

The FBI need to go back to their roots....

Strictly law enforcement.......leave the intelligence field to DHS.

The FBI changed drastically after 9/11........and not in a good way.

The real brick to the forehead here is actually something else.

This is not just a failure of only the FBI, but a failure across the entire federal government justice and intelligence community. You can trace events like this directly back to 9-11 and beyond. Here's why...

The US government invested so much time, money and effort gathering intelligence on the big bad Russians during the Cold War they were caught completely flat footed by the growing threat of the Middle East. They had no intelligence, nobody who spoke the language, no connections. And, they've been playing catch up ever since. What this translates into is, giving resources far too much latitude when trouble crops up.

The FBI should have:

- Been watching her MUCH more closely after the Iran trip and videos. She should not have been in a position to defect.

- Immediately had her security clearance lowered so her acces was less and supervised what she had left.

This would have accomplished two things; it would have made her less attractive to the Iranians, and it would have also kept her on a much shorter leash.

The FBI, like so many other government agencies has become partisan.

Pushing to eliminate an agency just because it has become partisan opens up a whole can 'o worms.

We see this in the left wanting to eliminate ICE, the senate, electoral college, because it isn't partisan enough.

Cleaning up a Banana Republic is a lot harder than people might think. It'd probably take a revolution to really clean things up and there's no guarantee even then.

If you want to deny those on the left that talk of eliminating ICE, the electoral college, the senate, that's your business, I suppose.

But it doesn't make it any less true.

But that's the problem, I think. If we're afraid to do this because of retaliation, what's the point? We're right back in to a stalemate. It's the same thing with the National Emergency. If Trump does this then like Pelosi says... Some moron can use the same idea to go all anti-gun on america because of school shootings.

It all ends up a "You do this and I'm going to do that". This is where democracy has come to and died. We've finally gotten to that point to where everything becomes stagnant because each side is afraid to push the other.

I agree... It would take a revolution and right again about whether or not it would actually fix anything. It would at least push the stupid back a little ways until the next great revolution is needed.

I have very close friend who is an FBI agent. He's been instrumental in stopping several terrorist attacks. I think the FBI is doing a fine job.

I guess keeping people in custody illegally doesnt enter the picture at all.
No, we need to get rid of the organization that is investigating the president...

You know making statements like this doesnt help your cause. It just makes it look like you have no filter for truth.
No one is looking to abolish ICE no one is looking for open borders. They are issues you pretend exist. Because everyone on the left has to be a monster or stupid to you. Why?

The left is trying to abolish ICE, the left does want open borders.

You're being deliberately obtuse.

as usual
lies from the liar

www.foxnews.com...

Ocasio-Cortez calls to abolish ICE, says Latinos must be exempt from immigration laws because they are 'Native' to US

The Democrat Socialist made a speech against immigration laws and promised to abolish ICE just before she unveiled her widely-mocked Green New Deal on the same day. Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar and Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib also joined the calls to abolish ICE.

just quit with the easily provable lies

Actually supplying the materials for the WTC bombing in 1993 was kind of big deal.
The FBI is really good at killing Americans and letting the guilty get away.
Must take multi-billion $ budgets to do that.

Wow...you're really going to go there????!!!

First of all, one has nothing to do with the other at all. The FBI becoming weaponized on behalf of the democrats is a whole different discussion than ICE detaining illegal aliens at the border. They are separate discussions entirely.

Secondly, upon what logic do you base the notion that detaining illegal aliens, who have illegally crossed the United States border, is somehow "illegal"?????

a. They are not citizens of this Country

b. They entered the Country without presenting valid Visa documents to United States Immigration and Naturalization agents at a formal Port of Entry. This is a crime. And, it's a crime in just about every country I've ever been to (and that is quite a few).

c. They were apprehended for breaking the law, and they were detained pending deportation...which, incidentally, is pretty damn kind compared to how many other countries do it!

You want to know how they do it in countries such as Malaysia? Malaysia has a huge illegal immigration issue with illegals from Bangladesh and Indonesia. There, they round them up with tanks and machine guns. They gun down anyone who tries to flee, just gun them down. Then they load them, by the thousands, at gunpoint, into the cargo holds of empty import ships from these same countries and escort the ships out into international waters with gunboats. In the case of Indonesia, the Malaysian Navy escorts the ships all the way to Indonesian territorial waters.

Ever spent any time in the cargo hold of a cargo ship in the blazing equatorial sun??? It's like an oven set on BROIL x 2! How do they survive, you ask?? They don't care!! And many don't survive, but you know what...they don't care!! They shouldn't have come in the first place! So, tough luck, Charlie! In any case, it's a trip you don't make twice in a lifetime...and that's just exactly how they want them to remember it!
