brazen violations of the right to free speech

States cannot punish speech and assembly activities that make up political boycotts. They also cannot require residents to give up their constitutional right to boycott as a condition of employment, contracts, or other benefits.

You say that, but....

This map compiled by Palestine Legal shows how pervasive various forms of Israel loyalty oath requirements have become in the U.S.; the states in red are ones where such laws are already enacted, while the states in the darker shade are ones where such bills are pending:

I wouldn't argue much with that sentiment.

However, just calling someone anti-_______ off of an assumption is throwing gas on the fire.

It depends on who is reading the statement whether it is antisemitic. If you say anything about jews that makes them feel uncomfortable, they will scream antisemitism. If they have a shop that sells sandwiches and you make a comment that their sandwiches are terrible - that to them is antisemetic - but for everyone else, it just an opinion.

It often seems like it comes down to whether or not it puts "jews" in a negative light (and this is totally subjective, so don't even bother trying to guess or read their minds) or exposes a truth about them that they have worked hard to cover up. Then they will call the ADL, JDL, AIPAC, etc and report you.

What is strange is that jews aren't the only semites, so IDK where they get off appropriating this term as if it only applies tot hem, they seem not to care about Arabic Semites and when they make the claim of "anti-semitism" and it is really code for "anti-jewish/israeli" they are grouping the innocent (of the claim/statement) Arabic Semites into the same group.

It's funny how with every other group of people it's just old fashioned racism or bigotry...but they get that special anti-Semitism word. If you really break it down and think about it it really does have a different meaning than good old fashioned xenophobia or racism. The anti- part really does lend the connotation that having a different opinion or disagreeing with a Semitic person is in fact anti-Semitism. It really is a great little loaded term that allows any opinion to be silenced.

It is also funny because as you mention there's Semitic people that aren't Jewish and technically Jewish people that aren't Semitic...

Thinking that all Jews are really Kazarian imposters is definitely anti-semitism

Some are, some aren't, and I have noticed that followers of Mohammad can be just as duplicitous, our last POTUS being a good example.

OK. I was addressing the factual accuracy of what she said. I do have my own views but as to what is antisemitic, who am I to say? I am not Jewish and don't really care all that much what these organizations think.

Being against Israel is not anti-Semitism. Being against or hating Jews is anti-Semitism.

People forget that Israel is a country with a powerful government. Not a name for Jewish people.

Wow, I never knew that. Great post. How Israel's influence is so great, yet so unknown is shocking...

I think Omar is right. The u.s. is hypnotized by israel.

Israel does not pay Americans, rather, America funnels billions to Israel, both by the government and also private organizations.

This just can't be true, I see all those poor starving Jews on the TV asking for money to feed them.

My mother grew up in Chicago, on the southside in the 40's. She was always kind and loving to all people, except Jews.
Don't get me wrong, she never denigrated them, nor cursed them. She just said she lived around them and she never "trusted" them. She never told us why to her dying day. To her, they just didn't exist.

I will be honest and say I have no idea if I have ever interacted with a Jew or not, I've never asked anyone what beliefs they have. I'm almost 60 and just recently found out my grandparents were Catholics but got kicked out in the 1930's

Mankind's inherent nature, and capacity for hatred in all its forms, leading to divisions among peoples worldwide, conflicts, wars, atrocities etc... Is how we get to our inevitable extinction.

imo

Nope...some who are not human are almost entirely responsible...and they will not allow extinction...way too beneficial for them to go on like this forever.

IT IS THEY WHO WILL BE EXTINCTED.

Does AIPAC contribute to candidates indirectly? If so, then what she said was true, it's just a matter of degree. After all, they are a political action committee. Getting money to politicians that support their positions is why they exist, just like any other PAC.

Never to individuals

I have to admit, some times I get confused easily.

Are not many of the peoples in the middle-east descendants from Shem, or was it only the Hebrews ?

If the Arabs are also some of his descendants, would they not also be referred to as "Semitic" people.

So, would this not make the Jews "anti-Semitic" for opposing and hating Arabs.

See, this is all very confusing.

Well, I suppose what we can take away from this is that it's generally accepted among lawmakers and the MSM to be anti-Semitic to suggest that a PAC might donate money to candidates who support the positions of the PAC. I'll be sure to remind people of that the next time someone criticizes the NRA.

Dunno why this shocks you?

Its being going on ever since the state of Israel was formed. Much has been written about it but anyway, now that you are aware of it, you are one more person who knows and one more person who might act on it.

thanks, for becoming aware.

Serious question. What other national in the Middle East most closely aligns with western values, and would serve the USA’s best interests to align with over Israel? Doesn’t Saudi Arabia seek to oppress other nations? And influence as much, if not more, as Israel has over US politicians? Yet you are focused on Israel? Why not all undo Middle Eastern influences on the USA?

So what is your obsession with Israel? Are you buying into Israel has “hypnotized” the world? Again, what country in the Middle East actually values western values?

Full disclosure: I'm not a fan of the Israeli Government. I'm not sure if I've ever met any Israeli citizens. On the whole, the Jewish people I've met I found to be intelligent, well educated, studious, industrious, good natured, level headed, and just all around good people. Of course, my experiences are limited. I'm not so sure about them being God's chosen people, though. If God really loves you, He will let you eat bacon.

But I don't see this as being about Israel or Jews.

For the past three years, the MSM has been drilling "Russian Collusion" into our heads. I don't know how many millions Congress and three letter agencies have spent "investigating" this.

Then a freshman Congresswoman correctly says that we have a lobbyist group representing the interests of a foreign government influencing elected officials. She is unanimously told that she was being anti-Semitic and that she needs to apologize and shut her face.

I don't care if it's Israel, Russia, Canada, England, Paraguay, or the Angels of Heaven. I think the American people have enough trouble with lobbyist from American corporations buying our government. I don't think we have enough government left to sell to other countries.

Call me a nationalist and old fashioned. I think elected representatives should adopt the positions of the people who elected them, not the lobbyist who buy them.

And I think the real reason the anti-Semitism card was played here was to end the discussion. Now the MSM and Congress can go back to business as usual and tell us about the Russian collusion.
