Experts have been left baffled by a spate of seismic booms from Arizona to New York that appear to have gathered pace over the past week.

The string of phenomena was first reported last Thursday morning when locals in three separate Tennessee counties reported hearing loud booming noises.

On the same day, North Carolinians contacted police reporting unexplained loud blasts and booms that kept them awake at night.

Two homeowners said the booms were so powerful that they briefly lost power as a result of the tremors, Mysterious Universe reported.

Similarly unexplained explosions have been reported happening in isolation over the past years, but rarely with this frequency.

Mystery booming sounds shake houses and terrify residents across America after ‘flashes of light’ spotted leaving experts baffled

The first think I thought was transformers. Boom, flash of light and in some cases loss of power. It has happened a lot though. I guess it could also be the military, planes or exercises. Anyone out there heard these booms or seen flashes or light?

Wasn't the incident in NY a blown transformer on an overloaded relay station?

The booms and flashes were this week. That NY transformer was awhile ago.

The Magnetic North Pole has been moving rapidly, as of late. That could cause rocks beneath the earth that are rich in metals, to become unsettled.

Shifting North Pole: www.npr.org...

Mankind is very fragile. It doesn't take much earth movement to freak us out.

I have heard mysterious, regional booms before... just not lately.

Dunno ... it's either natural: like meteor swarm, tectonic adjustment and/or spasms from our weakening magnetic field, or it is artificial: like black budget military testing or transformers made in China ...

or it is super-Duper natural: like gods throwing gang signs, angels arriving via dimensional portals or cosmic energies pouring in from the galactic hub to transform the properly awake into super beings of some definition.

Either way, I'd venture such booms are not "good news" ...unless you are a devout waiting for the big end o days reveal and a quick trip to some final vacation getaway. If so, wear a coat as the upper atmosphere gets even chillier.

That narrows it down

I think it may just be aircraft and other unrelated things.

I think it is just due to the recent crazy cold across the U.S.:

No way. The pole shift acceleration hasn't been studied. A recent phenomena.

It's just common sense that if the magnetic pole moves by hundreds of miles, metal minerals/rocks deep in the Earth would react.

That is very possible. The cold has also been causing high power useage and equipment to fail, I would bet.

Had one a few days ago here. Shook the house for a second, then it was done. Strong enough that I went to find my husband and ask him if that was an earthquake. No lights that I have seen though.

Did you hear any sound? If so what was the sound like?

Thanks for the info.

Thank you.

A few years ago there was a spate of loud sounds described as coming from the sky.

Happened across the US and a few places in Europe. Makes you wonder if we're testing something out there.

I live in Norfolk Virginia near an airport and there is also a large military presence in the area...so I am quite familiar with the sound of military aircraft flying overhead, as well as the accompanying rumbling sensation.
However several days ago, midmorning, I became aware of an intense, deep rumbling sound quickly approaching, seemingly at ground level. It very quickly reached me with a very loud deep intense rumbling sound that vibrated the house and then it was gone. It probably lasted about 3 seconds. It seemed to be coming from in front of me rather than above me like an aircraft would and was much louder than any plane I've ever heard. And I've been to the Blue Angels airshow.

A rumble. It only lasted a few seconds. Kinda like if you're in town and a huge heavy truck drives past you and hits a big pothole. But there is nothing around me but fields. I'm too far off the road for that to be it. Just like a mild earthquake, but faster. Made my dog run under the table. I Checked the USGS expecting to see a small quake. Nothing.

Also...it seemed to be coming from a northerly direction.
