Former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has been arrested by police.
Police Scotland confirmed that a 64-year-old man had been charged and said a report would be sent to prosecutors.
It is not yet known what Mr Salmond has been charged with.
Mr Salmond, who was first minister from 2007 to 2014, could appear in court later on Thursday. This breaking news story is being updated and more details will be published shortly. Please refresh the page for the fullest version.
Police Scotland has been investigating sexual harassment complaints from two women against the former SNP leader. Mr Salmond has denied the claims, which date back to 2013 when he was first minister. Speaking to Sky News last year, he said he was "not guilty of any criminality whatsoever". In a statement, Police Scotland said: "We can confirm a 64 year-old man has been arrested and charged and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal."
Mr Salmond earlier this month won his legal action against the Scottish government over their handling of an investigation into the complaints. A court said the government's decisions were "procedurally unfair and... tainted with apparent bias".
.....there's a real chance the former Scottish First Minister would be given a prison sentence should he be found guilty.

If found guilty he should be locked away for the rest of life in a cell with just the bear essentials.
