AATIP's mission was identification of unidentified aerospace (atmospheric and near-space) threats. The craziness ensues when people make the leap of
logic from "UFO" to "flying saucers from beyond Saturn."
The one thing I didn't hear him clearly state is the AATIP charter had nothing to do with research into extraterrestrial technology. He purposefully
and specifically omitted that for the following reason: nobody would ask him to speak at their convention because countering bad-guy technology is not
nearly as compelling as little green men from Mars.
He's a good speaker, and he told the truth. But he's being purposefully vague not by what is said--but by what is unsaid. This tactic is right out
of the USG Press Release Playbook.
