LONDON — Britain can handle the security risks involved with using mobile networks made by China’s Huawei, the cybersecurity chief said Wednesday, adding to a growing debate among countries on whether the company should be banned, as the U.S. wants.
"We're very confident that we're well protected," Cu said. "They may provide the equipment, but we run the network and so we know what passes over our network, what goes through it."
New Zealand will independently assess the risk of using China’s Huawei Technologies in 5G networks, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Monday after a report suggested that British precautions could be used by other nations.
Removing Huawei equipment that's already installed is fraught with difficulties. Furthermore, it's not clear removal is necessary, let alone shunning the company's gear from the start. What's a wireless company to do?
In a marked escalation of rhetoric, Ren Zhengfei, the founder and CEO of Huawei Technologies, the world’s largest supplier of telecoms equipment, said there is “no way the U.S. can crush us” and labeled the arrest of his daughter and Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou as “politically motivated.”
The U.K.’s inclusive model is providing an alternative approach to Washington’s outright ban on Huawei and represents a split in strategy among members of the Five Eyes security alliance. This month Huawei offered to open a similar lab in Poland.

While previous technology standards have been driven by the telecom sector, this time around 3GPP has members from sectors including agriculture (for example John Deere and Husqvarna), automotive (Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo), factory automation (Siemens), aerospace (Lockheed Martin, BAE) and broadcast (European Broadcasting Union, BBC), indicating how wide interest is in the transformational potential of 5G.

Should this occur, immediate steps will be taken to classify each as 'Public Utility' (essential public services) to gain appropriate gov regulation (control).
Why do we make things public?

I would argue that the US, China Russia are unified, with many others coming into the fold. Unity is unity. Having an army to kill people over fake, false and wholly made up "divide and conquer" differences is not unity and cannot stay any longer.
But how do you describe DDNOS? The temptation might be to describe it in terms of what it is lacking – “It’s sort of DID except not quite” or “It’s like PTSD but with more dissociation.”
3. People suffering dissociative symptoms who have been subject to “periods of prolonged and intense coercive persuasion (eg, brainwashing, thought reform, or indoctrination while captive).”
