I just found this program that replaces bittorrent while surfing the net. It's about 400 times better than bittorent and you get to select your connection, so it won't suck up your bandwidth. But that's not a problem for me anyway because I get 4 mbps!

Isn't it just a GUI for BitTorrent?

Graphical user interface? No.

It is a program by itself and I came upon it when I was looking for bittorrent for Mac OS 10.2.8. They only allowed bittorrent for the 10.3 and up so that's why I was looking.

Umm Azerus IS a Bittorrent Client ...
You download .torrent links of the web which point you to "legal" media content that allows you to download it at speeds unseen on Kazaa, Limewire or the old Napster. I routinely get 300 KB/s when I am downloading something. Works great for updating World of Warcraft, don't have to put up with thier crappy overburdand server this way. So yeah even though it enables you to commit piracy(Which I never do btw
) it has loads of legal ways to use it. It is the only p2p program I have seen that pretty nearly impossible to leech off of. The faster you upload the faster you download. It's done file by file. Only bad part is you have to find the .torrent links on a website. It doesn't have a centralized search engine, the community is totally desentralized.

Bah, you don't need it Grady. I just tried to get Azwhatever. Got it. Slowed my computer. Has peers in it. I've been through this with sharwhatever too. If you don't need it, you don't need it.

Now I have to delete all the crap it just made me go through loading. Bah. Java and like 3 other files and the stinking movie I wanted to see still won't DL. I'm pissed.

Screw it.

DAMNIT. Now I can't delete because others are using files on my computer.

I hate this crap.

Better now.

Thanks for the info. I really don't do any file sharing or downloading. My little brother's into that stuff. He's only 53 and more attuned to the digital culture.

I use BitTornado, also known as Shad()ws Experimental Edition.

As stated before, Azureus is a BitTorrent Client.

I too am wondering how Azureus is a better BT client as well, besides just giving it a better GUI. The main BT client already maxes out my bandwidth and BitTornado gives pretty good control over bandwidth. Can't really do any better than that.

Ok, so choosing connections might be nice, but so what? Setting bandwidth limits is a better way of limiting bandwidth usage anyway. Choosing connections would only be useful if you hate someone.
