We have a whole house generator. The power doesn't go out nearly enough but when it does, everything in my home works fine. The challenge will be protecting my home in a long term blackout. I will need to either work with my neighbors or have hired guns on staff..

Long, long term, I am screwed. I have no up north property. I expect to be slaughtered when my ammo runs out.

I agree. I've been around the world, and Americans are amazingly spoiled people.

However, I'm a person that can hunt/fish/trap, and I'm among a bunch of other people that can do all that and more. And I loathe all of this technology and can see with my own eyes how things like social media are a detriment to society in general.
