How do you know it will be thrown back in your face?

From experience. I have re-run this situation over five times in the past. There is nothing different. The crux is addiction controls the other person.

The experts are now saying that people that are addicted need even more love and understanding and not the tough love or rejection as previously advised. Doesn't that make sense, when people are lost and struggling that they have lost their positivity and project it outward?

Sorry but this is obvious to me.

Any addict is not intentionally mean or cruel.

However, there is no cure - the addict must be in a place to want to help themselves - so all approaches will fail until they want to help themselves then all approaches will succeed.

It stands to reason that if they are met with rejection that they would fall deeper into depression and addiction, but if met with understanding and love and help (depending upon the type of addiction) they may be more likely to want to change.

I was going to tell you 'no', but in doing a quick youtube search it occurred to me that he looks very familiar, so 'yes', I must have in the past.

I really liked that as it struck a chord. Maybe it is along the lines of being true to yourself and understanding that you can't change or control anyone else except for yourself. In accepting that, you realize the only choice and action you have is to develop or modify how you respond to the actions and words of others. If you fully respect another person's free will, the only options you have are to either accept or remove.

There was a cool philosophy that basically stated if another person wrongs you through actions that interfere with your free will, they are giving you their own allotment of virtue. With this gift they are offering you the possibility to become more than you currently are at the price of something that should be dear to the giver.

I hope I didn't corrupt your meaning.

Know thyself.

Don't hold grudges. Be kind. Be accepting. And know evil cannot exist without good. Stay vigilant.

Good approach to Existence sine.nomine. Project out the energy you want mirrored back upon.

Set a goal for yourself.

Do creative visualization.

See yourself becoming that which you wish to become and the universe makes it happen.

May take a billion lives to get there but that part of the fun!

How do you determine others are "dim in spirit"?

By the amount of light or positive energy generated from those they come in contact with...
We ALL* can become stronger with some help. I needed some help to increase my strength. Help in the form of knowledge, education and illumination on topics ignored by some of the masses.
As far as being positive for some payout in the afterlife-The cake is a lie- so not trying to keep certain frequencies up just to obtain a payout. However I do see the logic in a positive Existence overall as apposed to a negative Existence overall.
I guess with the light I bear I try to alert more so then warn my family of Creation (not only humans) of possible ramifications of negative energy output during the Phases of Life and Death within EXISTENCE.

What if you find it really hard to forgive someone and don’t want to bring yourself to do it. And also if you know that when you do forgive it will be thrown back in your face and the anger will return?

My approach is as they say it is good to forgive but I would not forget what was done by the to upset me. That way I don't have to resonate with anger or anguish negative energy, which then lowers my vibes. And I can remember to keep an eye out for any future mistakes.

Good question

Okay, that's cool with me. It sounded very judgemental and arogant, but you can see yourself in how you're reflected by others. Some just need a smile to get kicked out of their dim spaces.
Existence is a nice thing to dwell upon. It's experience with sauce. Where does it begin, where does it stop? And sometimes it's hard to say who's owning it. All there is and hard to grasp, kind of how theologists of the dark ages used to describe "god". A nice thought experiment is to see how many attributes "I am" can be described with.

I never really thought of that before. I am a selfish individual. I am nice and courteous to people for mainly 2 reasons: #1 - I share this reality with them and their happiness/contentment will make this shared environment better for everyone, including me. #2 - I am selfish and love good karma. I have witnessed wrong actions creating stress and discord, but good/noble actions make this reality great.

Is it wrong to act out of selfish desires? Even if I try to be kind and humble at all times, will acting through the ego create disharmony?

No, I don't feel it's wrong. I also see your desires more as "callings" to help our habitat and those you can reach with your positive frequencies ClovenSky. So your Karmetic energy to 1 will balance your disharmony.

I disagree with Opi, at a certain level intention is all that matters. And self preservation is fine, nobody has to really kill themselves, but to kill the ego is step one on any meaningful path of growing beyond "instinct and fear driven ape".
But I struggled with that a long time too. It's only once you got over it, you see the benefits.

I suspect there is a truth in those words. Maybe it is more dishonesty on my part. Instead of explaining my ways to people as being done through joy and happiness, I go the route of saying it is because I am selfish and want good karma. People usually understand the later motives much easier than the prior.

All, good, all easy, no worries. From time to time a deep breath and that mantra works. Happiness and joy are "the easy way", but that doesn't mean it's the wrong way or a cheat. Be like water
gurgle down and don't waste energy flowing upwards
