I will belittle them as much as I like. I have vast experience of these wonderful contributing peaceful people who only want what we have...but for free. Being born in Africa and actually having lived there I feel comfortable that I know exactly how their minds work. This isn't new....this has been going on for decades. Its not xenophobia my dear to state the truth as I believe it and have experienced it. And no there aren't more Africans than Scicilians that just silly I agree, the problem is once again culture clashes and fear, on a very small island which has to deal with these illegals on a daily basis and they are being overwhelmed from the sea. The migrant problem is probably the hottest topic for the locals at the moment and whilst most are removed to migrant centres there are those that escape in gangs and roam the countryside. Those are the ones to be afraid of. Tourist areas are the least affected, the outskirts of Palermo and the smaller villages it IS a problem

This kind of disrespect for African people I've only seen it with white South Africans, white Zimbabweans and white Namibians. It is xenophobia when you distrust people only because they come from somewhere or they look a certain way. Pure xenophobia.

I am Italian. I stay and visit everywhere, not just the tourist areas. I don't live in Italy but I still have lots of family and friends there so I know what's going on.

Sicily has dealt with immigration and invasions for thousands of years, they can cope with what's going on now.

Also, in the 1800 it was the Sicilians emigrating to North Africa in the thousands. Nationalities that had emigrated in the past (or had invaded and/or colonized other countries) are hypocrites when they complain of immigration now.

Oh dear me, so many wrong assumptions. Censuses in most countries are decennial, this means they are taken every ten years. So no, it's not political reasons, it's due to laws and regulations decided decades (or centuries) before.

This means that, for the time being, you have NO new data to show so we have to go with mine which is the latest and it shows clearly that Africans in Italy are a minuscule minority. I will not go by assumptions because that would be ignorant and wrong.

Of course some Italians are against African immigrants and whilst I agree a small percentage may be dangerous, the big majority are not. But Italians that complain do so just like every other xenophobic person: they know how little worth they have, they are incapable of bettering their lives by themselves so they look for a scapegoat, usually the darker looking foreigner.

Italy is in a terrible state right now, but not because of immigration, because of decades of government corruption. A perfect example is the bridge in Genova that collapsed because the EU funds sent to maintain infrastructure, were actually taken by individuals in charge (I have evidence to post if you want).

Immigration does not make a country poorer: look at Germany, look how many refugees it took in 2015 and yet it is the strongest economy in Europe and almost half of the refugees now speak German and are employed.

In Italy some Italian towns and villages, Italian native people are already getting replaced by the African/Arab migrants such is the example of the village Riace in the Province of Reggio Calabria.

Rather then saving the village by preserving or creating something for the Young Italian People that left who might return to the village.
Domenico Lucano decided of course not his own decision to have the village replaced with African/Arab migrants. He and Co decided to complexly change the area by importing and allowing the smuggled African/Arab migrants through some very crony deals and methods.


But this isn't the only village nor town that is getting population replaced by the African/Arab migrants.
