We're at the point where this country values non-citizens and junkies more than the average working man.

That's sad.. And you both state you have addicts in your own families, yet still wish them to perish.

Historically, the average working man has never cared about people in other countries or people trapped in a slow form of suicide. Seems, while the left and the right are getting loopier, the middle class are rebuilding picket fences.

Addicts do something that they know can kill them.

And they keep doing it.

Free choice is what I'm seeing here...

Are you anti free choice?

Yes and they still do stupid sheet to support their habit, including at the expense of friends and fam.

Perhaps they were going to call it the DMV of Safe Injections but decided against because its insulting to drug addicts.

This guy is an enabler and the worst kind of human.

The best way to deal with an addict is tough love. The faster they hit rock bottom the sooner they get the help they need.

If cutting down on AIDs and hepatitis infections is a bad thing you will hate this idea.

10 people shooting up and calling it religion cannot be generalized with "i guess everything is a church these days". There are 320 million people living in this country. The level of math illiteracy in people's comments is stunning. This story doesn't represent anything. It's just some stupid crazy people thinking they are doing the right thing. It means nothing.

As in I like to drink and be merry.

I've never hurt anyone, never had to steal for my habit, never drove drunk, never had to be resuscitated at someone else's expense etc.

I also am quite fond of eating junk food too, you might call it an addiction.

If it's the kind of addiction where you need to set up a safe space and provide for resuscitation then maybe that's just nature's way of telling you to cut that sheet out!

It's apples to oranges, my friend, but I admire your tenacity!

Junkies are only hurting themselves and the people that love them.

But real freedom is not having society come in and force you to live a way that you did not choose.

In my opinion it's better to let us all be free.

It's better to be kind.

The clean needle and overdose medicine is a kindness.

Just about everyone of us is addicted to something or another, it just so happens that some of these things have been deemed illegal by the government.

It gets my goat when people are happy to indulge in their addiction and feel validated because it's legal, these people are no better than those junkies in the street.

It's a little like Mr rich sitting at home drinking a bottle of expensive wine every night and finishing with a nice brandy or cognac and has the nerve to be looking down on the drunk in the street with their cheap wine in a paper bag.

I have no sympathy for junkies. I have too many in my family. Too many Crack-baby cousins.

It's a choice, not a disease.

I'm fine with these charities, but not requiring police to carry narcan. You get these dirtbags getting narcanned 5-6 times in a month. Then they finally geek out while driving and crash in to someone.

Let them die, better for everyone in the long run.

I also agree with you.

Im my job in LE I have seen a guy get his life saved my narcan , then in the hospital (not even an hour after being saved) shoot up in the bathroom.

I have talked with junkies who admit they dont fear OD because narcan is easily available.

look it isnt we are saying "let them die" and "its good they die"

it is letting them face the consequences of their actions.
doing drugs (ex heroin) IS ILLEGAL.
buying it is ILLEGAL
the drugs themselves are KNOW CAN KILL YOU.
doing them CAN AND DO CAUSE INJURY, DISEASE AND DEATH.
doing them IS A CHOICE.
QUITTING (yes is hard as hell) IS ALSO A CHOICE.

If I may be so factually bold it is no different than playing russian roulette with half or more of the chambers loaded.
its not if but when you will take that fatal hit

but yet they do .

but what really pisses me off is this using religion to support bad and lethal behavior but then denouncing it when it supports good behavior you dont like.

If you talk about (non forced) prayer in school, marriage of one man one woman, having kids ONLY when married, having a prayer at graduation, prayer at a sports event, against abortion ON DEMAND (not saving life of mother or rape/incest) or any other religious views its bad, your forcing your beliefs on me, and/or keep your religion out of my life and off my body

but when one CHOOSES self destructive behavior, breaking the law (yes including illegal aliens) , doing drugs, ect. how can you be so unchristian to these people
how can you not want to help them CONTINUE their ways until they CHOOSE to get help (ironically then not want to fund the help if its religious based or run).

now this OUTRIGHT MOCKERY of religion by HELPING PEOPLE BREAK THE LAW as a religious sect.

I thought (after hearing the founders ADMIT IT WAS A PROTEST/JOKE) the religious sect "the great spaghetti monster " church was hypocritical and mockery.

this one makes that look like a legit church.

the cold hard fact is this
ILLEGAL (and misused prescription drugs ) WILL KILL
doing them IS A CHOICE
quitting (while hard) is also a CHOICE.
If you choose to do illegal drugs you FACE DEATH AS CERTAIN AS PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE .
so if you choose to do drugs, you ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY for the outcome

to use church to support bad behavior and ignore it for good behavior is called HYPOCRITE .

novel idea

DONT DO ILLEGAL INTRAVENOUS (snorted, smoked , or ingested for that matter) and you wont get these diseases.

even a caveman or four year old knows this.

If I may be so bold.

what your proposing is like taking someone playing russian roulette with 3 chambers full and being so kind as to take one bullet or two out.

then providing them with a safe room to play.

Ignoring the fact they are gonna STILL FACE DEATH.

instead of saying (cold as it may be) dont play you live, continue you die...

im not sure where your going with your rant

what in ANYTHING I SAID I have no sympathy for people who get a disease (like hep positive) due to just bad luck in life?

SHOW ME EXACTLY where I said this?

since you didnt show my quote you either missed or didnt want to show the TRUTH that my "utter twaddle" was directed at those WHO CHOOSE TO DO ILLEGAL DRUGS and because they do TAKE THE RISK OF DISEASE.

Here, let me post my EXACT WORDS.....

"novel idea

now care also to explain what your rant of two peoples tragedy (if you are not leaving anything out) has to do with this?

unless you didnt use common sense to realize that its not logical to think that if you dont do drugs you are somehow immune to getting some diseases that drug users can/do get.

the REALITY IS that doing drugs INCREASES your chances and if you CHOOSE TO DO something that CAN AND DOES INCREASE YOUR CHANCES that its YOUR FAULT.

im sorry I didnt dumb down my comment to account for people not figuring things out on their own

setting aside the ethics of this guy and what he is doing, i don't think that what he is doing even qualifies for any religious exemption. religious exemption is all about using drugs that may be controlled substances in religious ceremonies, as part of a religion's practice. rather like if we were to once again do alcohol prohibition, religions such as the Catholic church which use wine as part of their ceremony of communion, would still be able to use the wine for that purpose, even though it would be prohibited from general consumption by law. then there is that little thing about a "religion" doing so has to be a recognized religion, where the use of whatever substance is known and documented. in other words i could not start up my own religion that uses coc aine as part of my ceremonies, so i could use coc aine.

as for his excuse about Christ would have embraced and supported people who use drugs, not shunned them. it does not wash. yes Christ would indeed embraced, supported and not shunned such people. as we have examples of in the bible. but he would NOT have been supporting their lifestyle and drug use as this guy is doing. he would instead have worked to get them off the drugs and turn their lives around, "go and sin no more". he did not for instance support the tax collector's taking of extra money. instead the tax collector worked to pay people back the money he had taken.
