This was one of the best threads I have read on ATS in years. SnF!

This is not in my typical area of interest, but I have received an incredible amount of information to dig further with.
Thank you!

Thank You Very Much for that..

Ha- I finished off my anthro/archaeological degree. But left it at that. As we say.... sociologists are just failed anthropologists.

Look at the ariel images and you can see it has depth. Has it not occurred to you that the man may have been standing on a ladder or something.

I am sure you have heard the tale about the head of the Sphinx being added after the real had was replaced?
When looking at the body of the Sphinx, its body sculpture is far too big for the head in scale.
The actual head was supposedly that of Anibus.

Anibus: was depicted in black, a color that symbolized regeneration, life, the soil of the Nile River, and the discoloration of the corpse after embalming. Anubis is associated with Wepwawet (also called Upuaut), another Egyptian god portrayed with a dog's head or in canine form, but with grey or white fur. Which may be key in this connection, Nile River equals copious amounts of water.

I am enjoying this thread and still watching for the usual know it all nay sayers to try to deny it but you have brought some great evidence and not merely anecdotal tales.

Also I love some of the other theory's and explanations.

A good way to get yourself disappeared. Especially in current egyptian political climate.

Why do You think any "War" the first thing the 'players' do is destroy Herstory? (putting the 'Yin' back in "History")

Watched a video that shows us a new angle on this hatch. Claims he found google images from the 90s with scaffolding built to the top of the head

What would the implications be if there were hieroglyphic inscriptions on the wall describing the mass exodus of Hebrew slaves?

Thank you for your reply.
I do not think the usual debunkers will turn turned up. I dont think they can really. There is evidence here and it is worthy of further exploration.

Cool thread. I wouldn't doubt it for a minute! Ive seen some of this before

I still think the Egyptians recarved the head. Its too small for the body, and the erosion on the body looks thousands of years older

That's an interesting observation. I've never heard this before. If true then why would they recarve the head? Do you have any links to stories regarding this theory?
