I’m so very sorry for your loss. It’s difficult and confusing when people don’t let love in, adding death to that must surely take a heavy toll.

Your concern and efforts to reach out to a man who was emotionally distant speak volumes about your gentle nature. Take solace in knowing you did as much as you were able to or as much as he allowed. You had charity in your heart and that is all any of us are called to do.
