I have no doubt the Raptor could handle it, but i just wanted you guys to enjoy the pictures.

actually since it appears to be a light multi-role fighter, it's not even in the same class as the F-22, so comparisons between the 2 are pointless

compare it to the JSF or eurofighter (it even looks like a damned EF-2000)

Looks rather large for a single engine craft

The jet does look really good. These two pics here and here look CG to me though. Not that there is anything wrong with that of course, just an observation.

Even though that plane is a blatant Eurofighter RIPOFF, the pics look really good.

Nice one

EF typhoon

Where's the similarity?

*cough cough* I will now try to compare the two light multirole's as best as I possibly can.

Canards

That's about it folks!

Now here is my contrasts of the two.

-Ef-2000 is double Engine, completely changing the fuselog of the aircraft beneath the wings.
-The J10 has a cylindar type fuselog, because of the single engine.
-The EF-2000 is a single seater, so because it has less weight due to it only being able to take in 1 pilot, and has two engines, it is probably significantly faster, and possibly more manueverable.
-The J10 has Gyro Stabilizers like the F-16 Block 50/52.
-The J10 uses Laminar Wing foil?
-The J10's wings in front merge with the fuselog, where as the EF-2000's wings are completely seperate and face downwards.

So, I tried my best, and if the J10 resembles anything, it will be a cross breed of a F-16 and EF-2000.

A speculative list on variations of the j-10

J-10 --- Original version.

J-10A --- Said to be the current production version

J-10B --- Originally said to be the two engined version, now the twin seater version. Or it may be the WS-10A version?

J-10C --- WS-10A version or Twin engined version?

JJ-10 --- Trainer version? Currently sounds more plausible to me than J-10J.

JH-10 --- Two seater Strike version like JH-7A with standoff capability.

J-10G --- Improved vesion with phase array and TVC?

J-10H --- Single seater Strike version like J-8H?

J-10J --- Trainer version?

QJ-10 --- Dedicated Strike/CAS version?

JQ-10 --- Same as above.

Err....right.....Same as the Viggen and Gripen and Mirage and Rafale right? And all Tupolevs are based on B-1s? Although they look similar, they are actually very different in design and use.

The more i read about it and see it the more i like this plane. It's just a really cost effective design with reasonably modern features like supercruise, I would go as far as to say it's my favorite fighter this gen followed by the F/A 18 E/F which has half as many parts as the regular version making it easier to build and maintain while at the same time having far superior capabilities to previous versions.

It is a fact that Israel sold China an F-16, and since it was such an elite plane, it would make sense for them to copy it somewhat.

I love the colors of the Chinese aircraft, though.

I think the typhoon looks better then the J-10.

Also...With all those J-10 pics none of them are great looking. all the pictures look like a cloudy day, no good background in any of them...not wallpaper quality.

Saying a plane looks like a copy of another because it shares a planform displays a real lack of aircraft recognition skills and displays ignorance of the subject matter to a high degree.

Calling something a copy of a Mirage because it has a delta wing (happened on the Tejas thread) or calling this a copy of the Typhoon because of what, its Delta canard and chin intake layout(?) is absurd. Even more absurd is the assertion that it is copied off the F-16 because it has the same shape fin.

You might as well say the Spitfire, Bf109 and Mustang were all copies of the Hawker Hurricane because they shared a common planform. Or maybe the B-29 was a copy of the Me 264? Nope, In recognition terms planform is nothing, design is everything and the J-10, Typhoon and F-16 are all as different as chalk and cheese. Its like saying that everyone looks the same because they have a nose and a mouth in the same place, yet we have no trouble identifying those that we know.

I have one piece of advice for anyone who thinks this J-10 is based upon the design of anything other than the Lavi, learn about planes guys.

Well I think it's a sexy plane, it kinda reminds me of the MiG-I.44 featured in C&C Generals (the only thing I actually liked about that game lol)

I never claimed it to be a copy, in fact, I am against anyone who says "pfft... That's just a copy". My motto is "If it flies, fires a missile, it's a good plane."

I was merely stating that only the canards resemble those of the EF-2000, I even posted all the differences I can find just by looking at the two.

I do also believe that, to say the J10 is a copy, is a bit ignorant, because it is very different than most aircraft. But if it flies, it's good.

nice and slinky but way to small (weps carrage)

Also love that piccy of the German tornado refulling the Typhoon, Wonder If the Tornado F3 can carry such a buddy system with it's very long range and still carrying weps. May be a useful way to extend the doggy range of the ty

The remark wasn't aimed at you shattered, it was an observation based on several such assertions that have appeared on this site over the months. It wasn't even your post that fired me to make the observation it was several other ones on the thread.
