very photo realistic, I wonder if the uncanny valley effect will be more noticable when they are animated, things that are natural to us but done subconciously, blinking, twitching, mouth movements could still be a giveaway.

I hope robots will like humans enough to keep us around as pets. We could finally have the lives we wish for our dogs. How many times have we heard people say, that if they could come back, they would want to be a pet dog or cat. This could be our chance, but i would settle for a roomba that brings me beers and feeds me treats.

Or, you create an AI generated virtual environment where a young Hillary marries a young Donald Trump.

This could be a future form of entertainment.

I could say, "Create a virtual environment where I'm Married to Margot Robbie and we own a small B&B in Utah."

The crazy thing will be the questions this raises about life.

Do the Avatars in the virtual environment know they're Avatars? Do they think they're real? Are we Avatars?

Now we’re talking. Glad we found some common ground. And the best part is, we can both have Margot Robbie, and the real Margot Robbie can do whatever the # she wants. (Although i suspect she will have a copy of me stashed away somewhere.

It’s a shame that nvidias tech will be used to make fake Facebook profiles and pushing fake news. Hell maybe even influencing an election or two. Lol

Makes you wonder if we're computer generated ourselves...

It won't have any effect on A list actors. They get put in movie because of their fame and hope that it will make people buy tickets. Most of the A list actors are really bad at acting. No matter what role he is doing Samuel L. Jackson is just playing Samuel L. Jackson. People don't go to see him act they go to see him being Samuel L Jackson. Same with Johnny Depp, etc.
Also people live vicariously through those actors and by following the made up drama of their social lives etc.
There's nothing to follow with a CGI face or a robot etc.
It may eventually have an effect on extra actors like Jesse Heiman or "short Guy #4" in the credits though.

Human actors in this situation are more likely to end up in a scenario similar to diamonds.

We can create flawless lab created diamonds.

Why do diamonds retain their value?

Because, natural diamonds will have imperfections, they can be differentiated by what makes a diamond NOT perfect.

I imagine real actors vs virtual actors will take a similar road.

Real actors will retain value because an AI will have issues copying what makes us suck/human mistakes.

I imagine it will take a bit longer for a machine to be able to mimic human failures.
