At least America can feel a sense of pride that Russia doesn't attempt that on our soil....

Or if you're from the other school of thought, at least our government isn't doing it and blaming it on them.

Russians are sissies. I'm calling those hard, pipe-hitting Saudis to go to work on the homegirl with a bone saw.

Do they ever visit GUITMO to ask questions?

She was jailed in July pending her trial. Sitting in prison; all the more easier to get a plea deal out of her.

She would have to offer something which I doubt she'll be able to do.

Just guessing here, but I'd imagine she would be trying to keep her real intentions to her self while she was engaging with Americans.

She can't flip on Russians as they won't come over for questioning or trial.

Self-admitted Russian spy Maria Butina’s Republican operative boyfriend wrote in private communications that he was involved in setting up a “very private line of communication” between Russia and the Trump campaign using the National Rifle Association as a “conduit.”

And that up to $30 million may have passed from Putin to the Trump campaign through this conduit.

“Unrelated to specific presidential campaigns,” Erickson wrote in October 2016, in an email to an acquaintance now in possession of the FBI, “I’ve been involved in securing a VERY private line of communication between the Kremlin and key [unnamed political party] leaders through, of all conduits, the [unnamed gun-rights organization].”

.... starting to sound a lot like the NRA have been involved in treason ....

Probably.

I actually think the headline is fair, in fact, for your lean I think it benefits your side.

Alleged Russian spy (most people remember when this story broke when she was arrested and that was what many chalked up as the allegations to her purpose and motives.) pleads guilty to conspiracy against the US. All true statements. I even made it a point to point out that her Russian connection is a banker.

Then again, I don't have the same "back channel knowledge" you do, so that may be my folly.

Wow what a misleading headline!

engaging in conspiracy against US

WOW

She has confessed to being a Russian spy, trying to infiltrate a major US lobby group.

She, and her handlers, conspired to influence US politics during the time-frame of 2016 Presidential election.

Despite insistence of some that Mueller's investigation is a waste of money, this exactly fits the brief that Mueller is investigating and validates its necessity.

Letter appointing Mueller as Special Counsel

The only possibly misleading part of the headline is that now she has confessed guilt, it is no longer just an allegation.

Dude, I don't have any goats or small children for currency. I know that thing is expensive, but I get a shipment in a week and will have questions about other things then.

You don't think the FBI is going over the NRAs records with a fine tooth comb?

Think someone in the NRA might spill his guts to save his own skin?

Jared should be able to confirm further.

I bet she doesn't serve one year in prison, even then it is a federal prison for special celebrities. Not like the prisons me and you get sent to. There will be a barter with Russia for her release. They will grab one of our spies, or three, and we will barter.

sweet, the culprit has been found, justice will be served, and everyone can go home and eat a nice dinner now. Oh wait, nobody was able to kick Trump, so the work isn't quite done yet. perhaps soon?
