The missing time reference is because there is a difference between what i told MUFON when i was being interviewed 8 years ago to today. When i look back at the event now, i see us alone. No other cars around at all. So i asked my wife does she remember this happening with traffic? Or no cars? She says with confidence there were no one else around. I feel the same way. So why did i report this 8 years ago that there was traffic all around me? My kid was 7 at the time, and was sitting in the back seat. On the way home that night i asked him what he saw, he said he saw a big bright light. Not much more. Yes, i am talking about hypnotic regression, although im not sure i believe that stuff works.
My first instinct is to warn you to be very cautious about attempting hypnotic regression. Not necessarily because of the authenticity or INauthenticity of such an approach, rather the fact that your 7-year-old child was in the car.
If the session reveals that all THREE of you were abducted, how would that affect you psychologically if you do believe the regression is accurate?
Then again, since your child is 15-16-years-old NOW, have you asked him directly what he thinks of such an option?
Thanks for posting a fascinating experience, by the way. Star & Flag.

I know your pain of wanting to know. I was so upset when I found out Dr John Mack passed; I was hoping to get some sessions with him.
I can tell you this much, my experience has haunted me for 41 years, and I would NEVER go to that place again.
You are not alone and I hope someday we all get some answers.

I think I’ll believe you...
And regression does work if you are truly willing, just know it can open a whole other can of worms...
And with each new piece of information or memory recalled, you will end up with even more questions...
I believe it’s worth it for you to undergo, of course that decision can be yours alone...

ya i didnt feel the fear you did, the ball of light my uncle and i seen a few years ago on a fall night in nova scotia was a good few km's away and up it seemed, sat there for 30 seconds or so after we noticed it then ZIP! off north and up into the sky, gone
Well i actually got more out of this than i thought, i think the best suggestion ive heard is to just let it go. It is unfortunate though, i have always believed in UFOs and the one time i actually see one close up, it scares the crap out of me to a level i didn't know existed.
Could very well be it was something we have and we just dont know about it.

Can you link to the original report on MUFON?
Memory is a funny thing. It becomes crystallised from replay but also adds and removes details. It's far from perfect.
Your original account is likely to be far more accurate.

Yes the truth in my opinion is scarier than aliens and the truth is we interact with them everyday.
One little detail about how what you told Mufon is different to what you recall now.
ConfusedBrit isnt as confused as their name indicates.
Hypnotic regression is something you need to speak to professionals about and never take any advice from conspiracy sites.
Get a referral from a general practitioner, doctor, for a specialist in psychology that can give you good information on how bad hypnotic regression is to try remembering traumatic events and how hypnosis, if the subject is susceptible can be lead to do or say just about anything, like, say there was a lot of traffic around when there wasn't.
after years go by the program or triggers wears off so in this case you remember what you said but remember that was not actually what you remember and wonder why you said that to MUFON.
Could very well be it was something we have and we just dont know about it.
Or we do
and those that do, could have made great efforts to create a cover story for illegal human experimentation which has become so wide spread that its basically as big as some religions and has believers that have identical thinking to many religious people.
What I suggest here gets some so angered that it just further solidifies my conclusions on certain parts of my ideas about UFOs and the alien abduction phenomena.

What's more likely ?
A ball game or event that caused heavy traffic or that your current memory is more accurate than the original account ?
I'm not 100% discounting your story but it needs some more rational thinking.
I have caught myself creating a couple of false memories before. In one I recalled my grades were higher than they actually were. In another I thought I wrote a new song but it was actually a tune I had heard years previously .
Also...Never do hypnotic regression it's just a tool that is going to make an even bigger mess well know for the capability of planting false memories and discredited in court cases.

I saw a twilight disc with 5 other people in 1974. We didn't see lights in the sky, we saw a large metallic looking craft no more than 200 yards away from us. There was a bridge about 300 yards behind us with traffic on it. As far as I could tell no one stopped to look at the hovering flying saucer. I spoke to one of the witnesses about 10-15 years later and first he didn't remember and then he said, "Oh yeah, we saw some kind of lights in the sky". Now this guy wasn't very bright, he was busing tables at a restaurant my parents and I were eating at, and he had turned into a major doper but still I would have expected him to remember more detail. Hell he was the first one of us to see it. The other peculiarity was we became afraid as it moved in to it's closest approach to us, all of us at the same time. As soon as we felt fear it stopped approaching us and hovered for a few seconds and then started slowly moving away.
I wouldn't swear to it buy I wouldn't be surprised if they can mess with our minds at close range.
