Please address the redirects ATS

Settings > Site settings > Pop-ups in Chrome. It’s not ad blocking.

The redirect is the issue though. It's not a new tab, it takes over the current one being used, I can't even hit back to bring me back to ATS.

Mods can't be much help because ATS does not control directly the ads members get, the ads are sent by ad providers.

None effected members will tell you that because it’s not happening to every single person, it must be your fault and your doing something wrong on your end. Stop complaining and the fact that your asking for help means your to lazy to figure it out yourself.

That's partially true, not all people get the same problems because different people from different locations and different Internet use habits will get different adverts. Being from Portugal I am getting mostly PayPal ads in Portuguese.

Mods will come in and direct you to post in a 10 year old dead thread and then close this one.

Are you talking about the Worst Ads Ever! (SkepticOverlord's Ad Hitlist) thread? If you are then it's only natural mods will say that, as that thread is where problems with specific ads should be posted, so Skeptic Overlord can look in there instead of having to look for threads about problems with ads.

PS: like most, I started getting ads this week, but I haven't seen any redirecting ads. I use Opera on a Windows 10 PC. I looked at ATS on a mobile phone, using Opera Mini, but I don't even get ads on that device.

Many of these ads are memory drainers too.

I have the same problem. I refuse to use ATS on mobile until the problem is resolved. If I start getting redirects on my PC, then I'll be leaving ATS. Ads are bad enough. Redirects are unacceptable.

Same problem on mobile, only use it if I am really jonesing for some ATS.

I have gotten redirects on PC at work never at home (knock on wood!) yet.

It is a nuisance but, I figured it comes with the territory.

Try duck duck go browser. Also delete all cookies history and all that and then POWER OFF AND BACK On. That help me.

I've complained about several issues here, especially the tactic of opening new tabs when you go to MyATS, these are done to double then triple, then "whatever" the "impressions" which won't ever end. Makes the traffic here look may times more voluminous than reality. I purposely don't use that tab, AND when running my boards I would never do.

I've run message boards, that's a very sketchy thing to do, especially for advertisers.

Luckily for ATS, they rarely check.

Mobile is still bad. This happened 2 months ago too. Maybe some tests are being conducted.

Well, the ad providers, such as AdSence don't seem to give # about these types of ads. Management should at least address the problem with them.

Exactly with computer and phone. Getting to the point where it's either block out ads and just read content or keep dealing with potential virus installation to just contribute.

I've experienced a similar problem on my notebook. Running Windows 7, using Chrome browser. Only happens here on ATS.

I was redirected to one of those bizarre URLs last night when I reloaded the page I was on to get the newest posts. Just got a 404 error. No popups. But, I was able to go back to the thread page using the back button.

The craziest thing that happened is when a login popup prompted me to login to caselemedia.com.

I'm okay with the advertisements. My ad blocker is disabled for this site. However, some of the ads that I'm seeing are blank. A few minutes ago a bottom page ad came up with the broken graphic link icon.

This leads me to believe that the website code that implements the advertising function may be defective.

I hope this can be fixed soon. It is most disconcerting to experience this kind of browser behavior. The last time something like this happened to me, a malware extension had been installed in all my browsers to periodically redirect me to suspicious websites. Some of which hosted additional malware.

Just had to close it down again because of a redirect, just now.

I have to say that I may stop coming to ATS as much now. It is a shame, I have been around here for a while and I love the content but I cannot stand getting these annoying redirects. I feel like I am being invaded by b.s.

I am pretty annoyed and I feel this is a bad move for ATS.

I used to get them on mobile all the time. Didn’t want to give up my nightly ATS reading in bed so I purchased a $4.99 app called phone Guarder and it pretty much solved my problem. Every now and then one will get me but it’s rare. If you decide to get the app, do be aware it learns. So the first few weeks it wasn’t a ton better but now it only happens like maybe once every 15 days or so but it’s been a long time since it has happened to me now that I think about it.

Are advertisers that easy to fool? A new tab is in the same browser session.
