I don't think I need to live there to understand the motivations of the protesters , I don't condone those who cause damage but understand why they do it.
It's not like the people of France are the only ones suffering the pain of the EU sanctioned Austerity program implemented by those who it doesn't effect , those who don't have to watch every penny that goes out.

I admire the french spirit and how they stand together when it comes to the working man. Take care of yourself and stay safe, as the police and CRS do not mess around when it comes to protesters. I agree with your comments concerning the hoodies from the left and right. Its the same here in the UK ``When`` the people try to protest, its always messed up by these gangs of hoodies from the right and left. I guess its organised that way by the state which we have here. Plus we have the floride in the water here, whilst being programmed at the same time by the tell lie vision. Macron is doing to the french what the Tories have done here. Austerity, except the French are standing together and fighting back.

Got home ok last night (I live 2 and a half hours away from Paris).

Clothes and car stank to high heaven of CS gas.

Paris is a mess this morning and sadly I think that next Saturday is going to be worse.

But I heard the impetus was a gas tax

It does seem worth mentioning that as usual, the poor people are the ones that have to pay for the elites to feel good about themselves being environmentalists

Makes you wonder how well increased gas taxes would do in other countries like the us

Emmanuel Macron is today holding a security meeting with government officials to consider imposing a State of Emergency in Paris.

Government spokesman Benjamin Griveaux told Europe 1 radio that a state-of-emergency declaration was a possible option. "We have to think about the measures that can be taken so that these incidents don't happen again," he said.

On Saturday, Mr Macron said the protests "had absolutely nothing to do with a peaceful demonstration of a legitimate unhappiness or discontent." He said those responsible did not want change, but instead intended to "wreak chaos".
