Democrat Kathleen Kane, former Pennsylvania AG, ordered to prison

A Pennsylvania judge ordered the commonwealth's former attorney general to report to prison by 9 a.m. Thursday, more than two years after she was convicted for leaking grand jury information and lying about it.
Democrat Kathleen Kane, 52, had been free on $75,000 bail while she appealed her 10-to-23-month sentence. The state Supreme Court announced Monday that it had declined to take up her case.
"Given that the rationale for (the) defendant remaining at liberty pending appeal has expired, post-sentence bail is revoked,” Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy write in ordering Kane to report to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. Demchick-Alloy formally directed the Lackawanna County sheriff to serve a copy of her order on Kane.

rose to power as a Democratic outsider with no political experience, vowing to shake to its foundations the state’s male-dominated, corruption-prone political establishment that she mocked as “the Harrisburg old boys.” (this sounds too familiar).
Now as a typical liberal Democrat, she offered only a lukewarm defense of a voter identification law. She also gave a promotion to her twin sister — who had worked for years in the attorney general’s office — prompting accusations of nepotism. Kane was convicted in August 2016 on two counts of perjury, a felony, and seven counts of abusing the powers of her office.

Where could she have possibly gotten that idea from?
She then refused to defend the state’s anti-gay marriage law. Now, she’s got an ally in the man who holds the national version of her job. Attorney General Eric H. she also shut down a secret sting case that had started under Mr. Corbett and had recorded four state legislators and a judge — all Democrats from Philadelphia — accepting illegal gifts. A year later, when The Philadelphia Inquirer revealed that the operation had taken place and that Ms. Kane had shut it down, she faced claims of partisan favoritism. Ms. Kane said the cases had been mismanaged and too weak to prosecute; local prosecutors later proved her wrong, winning convictions against four of the five officials.
Her actions led to a feud with Frank G. Fina, a former top state prosecutor who had overseen the sting operation and the Sandusky case. Seeking to undercut Mr. Fina, Ms. Kane leaked to The Philadelphia Daily News information about a grand jury investigation he had been involved in — a leak that would lead to the criminal investigation of her actions.
On Monday night, a Montgomery County jury convicted Kane of all nine counts against her, including perjury, obstruction and official oppression. Jail time is possible. After hearing days of testimony about petty feuds, political intrigue and “cloak-and-dagger” machinations, judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy ordered Kane to surrender her passport and threatened to jail her if she retaliated against the once trusted aides who testified against her.

I'm glad they locked her up. Not because she is a Liberal or Democrat, because she did something really wrong.

She sounds like perfect fit for the Obama administration.
Guess that ship has sailed thankfully.

In short, she use her office to single out political targets and she released grand jury materials to smear people. Namely, we have elected judges in PA, which is a bad policy, imo.

Normally I would support a true rebel, but my wife doesn't like her, so I'm inclined to trust my wife.
