Just put a new one on two days ago and the noise was there before that.

Then, I know you're surely frustrated by now! Good luck, and let us know what it turns out to be..

Best, M.S.

A bad wheel bearing I'd describe more as a grumble than a whine. Have you checked your diff oil?

Hmmm As I was reading mysterioustranger's response, It dawned on me. His response was already mentioned but it was the way he said it that brought this to mind.

Something might be loose. For example... On my vette, there was an issue with the front cover that goes just under the wipers. It was a flimsy piece of plastic but it was a protector between the windshield and the lip of the hood. It once had 5 metal clips holding it in place but it was taken off once to fix an issue at the dealership and those bastards forgot to put the middle clip back in. When I hit a certain speed, there was this constant nasty hum that drove me nuts for months until I looked it up and found out what it was.

If you did work on it recently, just think of what took place right before. It's probably something really simple.

All else fails... For 100$, I'll ride on your hood till you hit the speed where the humming starts and tell ya where it's coming from

Check the speed cable dealio.
